Decent hotel, short walk to downtown.

Posted Aug 15, 2015
Pros: Free parking and staff.
Cons: The one elevator is extremely small and very slow.
Location: Restaurants, zoo, entertainment all near by
We stayed here for Moto GP - the rate was good, free parking, easy access to downtown - a short walk, good free breakfast and a friendly staff. Room was clean, well maintained and quiet. Staff was very helpful with directions and other information.

The best downtown deal

Posted Aug 6, 2015
I enjoyed our stay. The room was very affordable...and no extra charges for parking, wi-fi, etc. Walking distance to everything downtown. Clean room...great staff! The only down side I can even think of...is that we woke up around 10:00am and couldn't get any breakfast as it was over by 9:00am. If you kept your breakfast available until checkout times, it would have been the perfect stay. No worries though....we will definitely stay here again!!

Older Hotel with Friendly Staff

Posted Aug 4, 2015
Pros: I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast they offer. I was not expecting eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy!
Cons: The rooms could use a remodel and new windows. Our room faced a street and we could clearly hear the traffic go by.
Location: The location was good for our purposes. We were going to GenCon and the hotel is a little less than a mile away. Plenty of restaurants on the walk.
When we first arrived the room we were given was obviously not ready yet. The sheets were still piled up on the bed. It looked like the room was in the middle of being cleaned. We told the front desk and they apologized and instantly put us in another room. The second room was fine. It's an older hotel and looks like. The rooms are clean (except for some stains on the curtains) and the beds were comfortable. The staff was great and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

Great experience for the price, I'll be back

Posted Aug 3, 2015
Pros: Great front desk staff, great pricing, free parking.
Cons: I would have liked ice and water in the breakfast area (in addition to the juices, coffee, and tea).
Location: 15min walk to the circle, 20min walk to the convention center, both of which have great restaurants around them.
Obviously this isn't a luxury hotel however the rooms were roomy and clean, had a fridge and microwave, and the front desk staff was top-notch, noticeably better than those at many nicer hotels. If the location works for you then you can save a lot of money versus the more downtown hotels, yet you can still easily walk to the circle area. Also includes breakfast with great waffles and scrambled eggs, among other items.

would stay there again

Posted Jul 26, 2015
Pros: staff, price, location
Cons: repair the underground parking and put it back in use. Fix minor things like the table in my room that had a broken leg.
Close to downtown. Would be great for a game at the Lucas Oil stadium. Just walk to it. Not a five star hotel but then I didn't pay for a five star hotel. Staff was very friendly and free breakfast was as good as most hotels. Had a corner room on the street with construction going on across the road. A little noisy as i live out in the sticks but it wasn't bad. Elevator is small but never had to share it with more than one person. Overall it is just a old hotel and it shows it. Have stayed in much worse and have paid a lot more for no better.

Nice Downtown Hotel

Posted Jul 25, 2015
Only about 1.5 miles from Canal Walk - so worth the walk to go there (walked there by myself appeared to be a safe walk - lots of people) - hotel clerk gave me a map and directions - also go see the Soldiers Statue on the way to the canal - there is a Starbucks there for a quick drink - this hotel had comfortable beds - not super clean but made up for it with the great scrabbled eggs and sausage (free breakfast) yum - also hotel staff was friendly - Free parking but wasn't able to get covered parking but you can still get free parking on the other side of the hotel (no worries) would stay here again - not fancy but a nice hotel overall

Hotel needs an upgrade

Posted Jul 16, 2015
Pros: I did like the location--it was a nice walking distance to downtown Indianapolis.
Cons: Perhaps better training in customer service for employees and upgrades around the building. Attention to detail and ownership of the space.
I reserved two rooms, one for myself and a co-worker. The front desk staff were nice, but the kitchen staff could've been a little more attentive to the breakfast bar. It took me a few minutes to figure out where the hot water for the oatmeal packets was--it was unavailable at the breakfast bar area, but found some hot water near the entrance of the building (across the lobby) at a coffee station. The boiled eggs tasted...different...and the forks ran out, and when I told the attendant, she told me a droll/half-asleep voice that she was getting them. Being an assistant director in food service, I notice things like this. Maybe I'm picky. My company's chef, who was with me, did not choose to eat breakfast there. Main hallway carpets were stained and scattered with debris; attention to detail around the building was lacking in general. The elevator in the hotel was very small--could fit only 3 people, and it was very aged and sketchy-looking. (I chose the stairs most of my stay) My room's hairdryer (which was supposed to automatically turn on when unhooking it) was broken and didn't turn on. The first night we had a major storm pass through, and my coworker's window flooded his room by the window (it was very damp and wet as opposed to flooded). When told of the issue in the morning, they acted promptly; I think they had a floor dryer sent up to dry his room while we were away for the day.

Noisy but good location

Posted Jul 8, 2015
The location was great and it was easy to walk to anywhere I needed to go but it was also very noisy from all the traffic. The windows were not soundproofed at all. The hotel itself was a bit run down and the water was so hard I couldn't wash the soap off my hands. The staff was great though. Very polite and efficient. The onsite parking was especially appreciated. They even offered to let me keep the car parked there after I checked out if I was going to be sightseeing during the day (presumably for a price, but I didn't take the offer). Overall, I probably wouldn't stay there again but it was good enough for a one night stay.

Nice hotel for visiting Indy

Posted Jul 6, 2015
We needed a place to stay for one night. This was a nice hotel to lay our heads down for the night and the staff was very friendly.
