Owners Christina and Johansson were fabulous, friendly, and helpful. Period. Christina speaks English extremely well and Johansson, fairly good. At first when we took the taxi to the hotel from the train stop, we thought we were being taken for a "ride" for our money. It is located just outside of the township along farm roads. After a fantastic supper and a good night's sleep (breakfast was inexpensive and delicious continental style), our anxiety was relieved. Fresh air and flowery gardens.
If you are without a car: The Information Desk at Munich Hoptbahnhof (train station) told us to take the train to Freising - don't do that!! You'll have to take a 30 minute cab ride to the hotel. Instead, take the train to Petershausen on the S2. The cab ride is only 6 minutes to the hotel from there. You may have to wait for a cab - the phone number is clearly posted in front of the Bahnhof. While waiting for a cab (or call the hotel for help), you can explore Petershausen - a very typical Bayrisch town.
All of our meals were prepared by the family, but mostly by Johansson. He is a great cook. When chantrelles (Pfifferlingen) are in season as in the fall, order everything on the menu that has them! he also grills a mean beef steak - and my wife is picky about that.
We will stay there again, I guarantee.
