The night shift receptionist is super friendly whereas the day shift one was mean and impatient. We were trying to pay the hotel fees but he was super impatient and got mad at us. The amenities are poor we barely got hand soap. There was only one toilet paper roll. In fact, the price/quality ratio was reasonable but the minimum was missing.

Not much going for it except close to metro
Although the cleaners were trying very hard to help, the hotel is old, and in need of a renovation. There is mould. Beds and pillows not comfortable.

The place to stay when you visit Istanbul!
We lost our passport and wallet just before arriving at the hotel. The hotel management went the extra mile in guiding us through the process of getting a police report and getting to the Consulate. It is relatively easy via public transportation to get to any place in Istanbul that you want to go. We highly recommend this hotel to others.

Excellent location. Close to all the sightseeing places and shopping areas. If you have a requirement for a mosque close by for prayers, the shehzade mosque is a two minute walk from the hotel. Staff are polite and helpful. The only downside was the food in the hotel.

Okay but could be better
The hotel was Ata very good location and all amenities were present. However, for a three star hotel we had few mediocre things. At first the WiFi wasn't strong enough. Also they required you to log in for each device. Every time you move from one floor to the other the WiFi disconnects. It was so annoying. Could not recommend this to any business traveling. The potters could also do with smiling. The canteen food wasn't very good for the class of the hotel. They also forced you to eat and finish and leave the breakfast area, by their action, obviously without a smile and switching off the light. A training n customer etiquette would help. Vibe was dead at this hotel.

It is a small and friendly hotel, next to Laleli street. The breakfast is nice, the rooms are clean, the personnel is friendly.

The location was very good and the facilities were clean. However, we found the staff at the concierge to be very rude and we ultimately felt taken advantage of.

Last 2 days no toilet papers , last day at 10 am when we came back to the room we couldn't access it , we went back to the reception and they send some guy to open it , unfriendly at all , will never book there again , sorry

Good central location
Moderate hotel with average levels of customer service and an ordinary breakfast that lacked variety. Roof terrace was under utilised and a lot of the rooms had small twin single beds. Best thing about the hotel was it's central location and it's cleaners who did a decent job.

Barin Hotel, is a nice hotel.
This hotel is few meters from the tramway station. You can easily head to the Grand Bazar by walking 10 minutes. Its Staff is friendly, the rooms are clean. Everything for me was fine.

Nice affordable hotel near the old city
A good and recommendable budget hotel that is near the Istanbul old city. It is near the Istanbul University and all other popular tourist spots that are well connected via the tram service. The room is quite small but who cares about room size in Istanbul where you will spend most of your time outside. The beds were comfortable and the room clean. After dark, the area around the hotel may be quite uncomfortable due to the number of vagrants and homeless people there, but do not be intimidated, they pose no harm.

Arrival is welcomed and bags/luggage were brought to the room by the hotel staff. Breakfast for 5 days were ok although similar menu with slight changes in 2-3 types of foods. Room was cleaned daily. Security was wonderful. Nothing was lost during my stay at the hotel. Taxi is available easily.

Great hotel for the business trip.
The location of the hotel is good. If you are going for the business trip ,I will suggest this hotel. This hotel is near the Laleli, Beyazit and Mercan. The room are small but are cleaning and comfort. I think ,for the money that you pay this hotel is okay.

Excellent location in Barcelona's nerve centre!
We really enjoyed our stay,room very neat and contains all you need. Breakfast was good with quite a choice of what to enjoy. Loved the big market with all its interesting stalls just a few meters away. My second visit and will stay there again if visiting Barcelona

Stayed for 4 nights-party of 4 males. Found the Hotel more than met our overall expectations. It is is a good central location on the European side/Old City. Near to transport-bus/tram links. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Rooms were smallish but this was expected for 3 *. Staff @ reception were very helpful indeed booking transfers/restaurants etc. Personally I found the breakfast buffet a bit poor but my companions didn't.

great location could walk everywhere, that is if you dont mind walking around 30-40min to get to blue mosque and 15min to get to the grand bazaar. Tram line very close by too. Hotel was good, no complaints, food was ok-ish.

A good, no frills, hotel for "history" tourists
The cost of this hotel was at the lower end of the scale, and thus my expectations weren't too high. The Barin is VERY tired and dated, the rooms are small and internal rooms have almost no natural light. If you spend much time in your room or your hotel, this is not the hotel for you! However, if you use a hotel room for a comfortable bed and a shower and want to save on the cost to spend your money elesewhere, this is a good choice. The staff are really helpful and knowledgeable. It is in the fashion/wholesale district of the old town, next to the historic bazaar, the viaduct and 2 beautiful mosques. Thus the area is bussling and down at heel, but charming for it. It is a 5 minite walk to the T1 tram "Laleli" stop with easy access to the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque (SultanAhmet), Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Galatas Bridge (for Bosphorus cruises and Ferries), etc. If you want to immerse yourself in the feeling of history and feel surrounded by the real people, this is the area for you. If you prefer a more westerized experience, head to the modern areas of Istanbul across the Golden Horn. (post script: the T1 also takes you to Istanbul Modern Art with connections for the modern shopping areas like Nisantasi / Beyoglu / Taksim)

Hotel Barin Istanbul
Barin is a great hotel located in old town. Hotel is within walking distance of Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Staff is friendly and accomodating. I will definetly stay at Barin again my next trip to Istanbul.

Barin Hotel, Istanbul - Easy, Convenient, Nice
The staff at the Barin were very nice, helpful and accommodating. It's located in the Old City section of Istanbul and is within walking distance of the Grand Bizarre (10-15 minutes), the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia, and the Spice Market (20-25 minutes). It's also close to a tram stop if you don't want to walk. The breakfast was included and was really good. The hotel lobby was well decorated, inviting and a nice place to relax with a beer at the end of a day of walking. Also, there was free wireless in the hotel lobby so it was easy to catch up with family and friends back home. The only complaints we had were the beds were hard and the walls are VERY thin. There was a crying baby next door to us and construction on the building across the street so we would recommend earplugs or just make sure you go to bed really, really tired in order to sleep through it. If we ever returned to Istanbul, we would certainly stay at the Barin Hotel again.

Barin Hotel - clean & close to Sultanahmet sights!
Check-in was quick and painless; hotel staff at front desk spoke English which was very helpful for a couple of Canadian travellers like us! The hotel was clean and well-maintained. Rooms are outfitted with all the basics and very comfortable, if not luxurious. Radiator heating in-room and also self-controlled air conditioning fan unit. Small mini-bar has enough room to stash a few things of your own - water, fruit, etc. Daily buffet breakfast was always tasty and of good quality. If you're particular about your toiletries, consider bringing your own shampoo and conditioner, as the room includes a shampoo and bar soap only. No complaints, we had a very pleasant stay and were walking distance to all the sights we wanted to see in Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, etc.) and Fatih (Spice Bazaar, Galata Bridge, etc.).
