Nice hotel with water views in downtown

Posted Jan 21, 2016
Within walking distance of lots of restaurants and shops. Next to train and marina so a little noise from the train but nice water views. Free breakfast was great and served in a lovely room. Lobby beautiful and staff nice. Parking was a little hard on the weekend and the maid never made it to our room the 2nd day. We had a 2 room suite with a kitchen and fireplace. There was also a dishwasher and a DVD player. Room was comfortable and spacious.

Great location in heart of historic district.

Posted Jan 19, 2016
Pros: Location!
Cons: Get rid of room 231!
Location: In historic district across from marina. Shopping, pubs, museums, water views. Nice beach 2 1/2 miles across island.
We loved the location. The hotel was clean, nice lobby area and breakfast room. However, the staff put us in the room directly beside the kitchen and prep area for the breakfast room. The banging and bumping started at 5 AM Sunday morning. (Room 231) When we commented on our dissatisfaction, the girls at front desk kind of smirked after noticing that we booked with Expedia, and said that since we booked with an outside agent, you get what you get. Would stay again, but would ask to see room first!

Pros: How close it is to historic district. Not too far from the beach either.
Cons: Bed was a little firmer than I like
This hotel was very close to the historic district and within walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Comfortable suite near the harbor

Posted Dec 30, 2015
Pros: We liked the location near restaurants and the harbor. It is typical Hampton Inn quality. The breakfast area was very well laid out.
Cons: The little kitchenette could have a few more basic implements like a can and wine opener and some containers for reheating restaurant leftovers.
Location: You can shop in the local stores. You can take a boat cruise. You can walk to the Greenway or to the beach. You can see the sunrise and sunset.
This was the first time we stayed in the old town Fernandina near the harbor. We liked the location of the hotel as we were able to walk to lots of restaurants. Our suite was very comfortable with 2 queen size beds and a separate living room with a kitchenette. The kitchenette does not have a stove but it does have a regular size refrigerator and microwave. We would have liked a few more basic implements like a wine and can opener and maybe some pyrex which could be put in the microwave for reheating leftovers. The lobby of the hotel is very pretty with the winding stairs leading up to the second floor where breakfast is served every morning. We enjoyed having the full breakfast available which changed somewhat each day (we stayed 4 nights). We heard the train passing by in the morning and evening but it was not particularly loud or unpleasant. We were able to easily adjust the room temperature separately in the bedroom and living room. Our view was nice of the harbor. Parking was not a problem during our stay over the Christmas holiday. It is a good 2 mile walk to the beach on sidewalks for those who want some vigorous exercise. We will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful visit

Posted Dec 24, 2015
I always look for clean rooms and location. The room was clean and functional and the location was perfect. The best part about staying there for my family was that the breakfast was included. We will definitely stay there again.

Comfortable, attractive and great location.

Posted Dec 22, 2015
Pros: It was beautifully decorated for Christmas and walking distance to many restaurants and shops.
Cons: The shower/tub could be updated.
Location: Walk to restaurants, bars and shops. Visit the museum of history, the beach and Fort Clinch. Bring your bikes.
We were upgraded at check-in to a suite with a view of the harbor and gorgeous sunsets. The suite was two rooms separated by double doors. The bedroom had 2 queen beds and the bathroom. The separate room had a living room with a fireplace, a second television and a kitchenette.
