We stayed in Casa Barracuda for a week. We had 4 adults and 2 children. The outdoor area was stunning. The pool was truly the highlight for us as we were able to cool off multiple times a day and my kids basically lived in it when we were home. We could sit on the upper deck and see Macaws landing on the trees across the street, which was such a treat! Iguanas hung out with each day and sunbathed while we swam. The quick walk across the street to check out the waves, sunsets and surfers was perfect. My husband is a surfer and loved being able to run across with his board and catch a few waves in the AM before an excursion and during sunset. Playa Hermosa beach is not a beach that you want your kids to swim in or even adults if you are not a skilled swimmer as the waves can get huge and they are thick and heavy. We mostly walked the beach or watch my husband surf as the sun set (while drinking wine of course). The house itself could use a little work. The stove was very confusing to use as the numbers had been rubbed off and there were no instructions for use. We had to have a technician come help us which meant we could not use the oven for cooking, which was unfortunate as that is why we rent house, so we can cook food that we buy from the store. The BBQ was very rusty and the propane tank looked like it was from WWII (seriously). I made a call and within two days we had a brand new BBQ (one that my dad loved and wanted to get for his home in MT), however they left the old WWII propane tank. It worked so I guess that was good. The cabinets appear like they could fall off the wall so it would be great if that was fixed. The other frustrating part was that the house has NOTHING in it. No laundry soap, no dishwashing detergent, no dish soap, no spices, nothing. I am use to there being a few necessities when I rent from VRBO. The dishes and glasses were all mismatched, which really didn't bother me and there was enough for everyone. The cutlery (knives ) could be replaced as they were not sharp and looked like they were very old. I bet if the owner put a few thousand dollars into those items, the house would be absolutely perfect. Our neighbors were robbed on their first day there, but they had not locked their front door while they were in the back enjoying the pool. We made sure to always lock the front door, especially if we were in the back. The backyard is exposed to the street, so locals could tip each other off.
