“The three of us stayed at this home back in 2024 and it was fine, met all of our needs. This time, however, we discovered German cockroaches in the kitchen about midway through our stay. We had to keep all of our food in the fridge so roaches would not get into it and just the idea of roaches in the property was unsettling. The owner was notified and stated he would have the house sprayed after our stay was over. While the house itself was okay, the presence of cockroaches in a vacation rental……

“This lake cottage was peaceful, serene and just plain magical! The screened porch was a wonderful cocoon from which we enjoyed views of the lake and wildlife while sipping coffee and eating meals. The binoculars provided came in handy when viewing the eagles, loons and the blue heron which fed at the shoreline. The towels were plush, the bed was comfy and the kitchen was well equipped. One issue we experienced with gaining entry to the building which stored life preservers and paddles was……

“I will return. I could have stayed longer. It was a nice respite from a stressful life. Hosts were amazing. Extremely accommodating! My dog loved being able to swim (and chase sticks - finally learned to bring them back to the beach) every day. I think it helped that the hosts left a container of the training cookies. And they left a dog bowl, which I forgot. The wood stove was perfect for keeping us warm at night and when my dog was a still chilly after her swims. Again, I will return!”
