Shuttle driver, front desk, dining room staff were all friendly and helpful. We did not see our housekeeper, but they did a wonderful job.

the hotel was great, but the experience was not great. There were people screaming until 2 in the morning partying and we had to get up at 4am for a flight. Also we had drinks at the pool bar the night before, to find out someone charged our card for over a thousand American dollars. I suggest bringing earplugs and only using cash when you are there.

Overall ok with helpful and cheerful staff but we noted two issues that are unacceptable by a hotel of such standards… 1. My wife noted that the sheets on the bed were stained and not clean… suspected they were not changed 2. Bath tub in the room was not clean… very visible dirt ring noticed

If you are arriving after 8pm at OR Tambo, there is no shuttle service to the hotel. When we arrived the airport wifi was not working, so we could not get an uber. We dont have SA simcards, so could not make a phone call. Had to make use of these random guys standing outside arrivals claiming to be taxi drivers using unmarked cars. Nerve-wracking, but luckily arrived at the hotel safely.

Hi, Check in was extremley slow, long ques and only 2 persons at check in. Our bed was the worst part of our stay. Everytime my husband moved, it felt like I was on a waterbed or trampoline - we could not sleep all night

Metcourt Peermont Emperors Hotel Service Stinks
If you're looking for friendly or half decent service, don't stay here. The staff are shockingly rude & customer service is non-existant. I wrote a 12 point essay to the hotel about what went wrong in ONE night. I've traveled the world, every country in Africa included, and this was the worst customer experience to date.
Don't expect service anywhere in this hotel

No Proper Bathroom.
Beware. The rooms in this hotel do not have proper separate bathrooms. There is a curtained off area in the bedroom behind which is a shower cubicle and a toilet cubicle with smoked glass doors and a wash basin. I was travelling alone so it wasn’t a big problem but if my wife had been with me we would have found this lack of bathroom privacy totally unacceptable.

The family room was spacious and breakfast was good, but the running of the hotel was very poor. The swimming pool rules about queuing to receive wrist bands was ridiculous, and the token rules for towels was pathetic. The pool closed at 6pm at the height of summer which was ridiculous. We ordered an evening meal one night at the hotel restaurant which was disgusting, the fish was not fresh and the chips were like rubber. The management were not professional, closing a door in my husbands face when he went to complain. Overall, not a pleasant experience, would definitely not stay there again. Would not recommend.

Bus shuttle was wonderful to and from the airport. One has to avoid the gauntlet of airport folks who want to grab your suitcase and show you the way to the shuttle and then want a tip to point you in the right direction. There is need for shuttle signs at the airport. We were asleep and thought it as guests who were super loud on the 5th floor. We discovered it as the male repair staff, who talked extremely loud and could not tone down the voices. The females cleaning staff was quiet and seemed efficient. Would stay here again because of the Emperors Palace multi eating facilities.

Nice place shame about the gyms
The stay was good. I was there for business. The gyms are not good at all considering the amount of guests that stay in the complex. The gyms have been and after thought with little equipment or weights.

Not great if you don’t like the smell of smoke
Stayed one night only with a very late check in. Straightforward and easy check in. The room was small, but clean with all the necessary things available. But unfortunately it was a smokers floor- the smell quite strong. My room was with a door to the adjacent room and I could hear my neighbor walking around, coughing etc. Due to the late check in I did not request a change in room- but being put on a smokers floor despite requesting non smoking is extremely unpleasant.
