Nice hotel but construction impacts stay

Posted Jul 19, 2016
Pros: The space - the 3 bed, 3 bath was huge and perfect for our family of 6.
Cons: The construction - beach access.
The hotel was nice and the space of our three room villa was awesome. The pool was very large and peaceful and we spent a lot of time enjoying it. The walk to the beach was longer than expected based on the construction and the road is not safe for young kids as it does not have walking paths. We ended up driving most places. The villa we had was a partial ocean view and the construction noise was quite loud and while the banging might not start until 9 am - the crews arrive around 6 am and are not the quietest. Additionally, we had to call in twice to complain they were going well past 8 pm a couple nights. I would not recommend an ocean view because of this - but the resort view villas seemed to have the quiet one craves on vacation.

Pros: 泳池很漂亮
服務緩慢,去的時候想詢問跟換有無海景房完全沒有幫我們查詢,入住的房間剛好在施工有圍籬全部一點海景山景都沒有整個房間都曬不到太陽也不告知

Beautiful resort, beach & restaurants close!

Posted May 8, 2016
Pros: The best thing about this resort were the employees. The room, the distance to the beach, eats and shopping.
Cons: The noise, but that will end when the renovation is completed. We would like to return after to experience the beautiful resort w/o the daily noise.
Location: Snorkel, swim, walking. Relax at the pool. Poipu is a wonderful area to stay in, it's our favorite side of the island.
We had booked a studio, because you are in Kauai what do you really need a bed, shower and a/c! When we arrived they had upgraded us to a beautiful 2 bedroom 3 bath villa. You know the place you see and wish you could stay there? We did, and it was awesome. You imagine it and they had it. From the fully equipped kitchen, to the beautiful walk in showers, and wrap around lanai with partial ocean view. And the elevator was semi private. The only negative was the construction that went on daily. I booked a studio as it said it was away from the noise. We arrived on a Sunday, there were no works nor noise. Then Monday arrived and it was very noisy. When we left we mentioned the noise and the wonderful front desk staff member said that we should have said something and they would have moved us. But we had already settled in and really were only in the room later on in the afternoon. But if you wanted to nap or relax on the lanai you had to wait until the workers were done around 5-6 pm.

Massive construction

Posted Apr 9, 2016
We changed our "Ocean View" to a pool room to get away from the construction. When I called and asked them about the construction in February they did not tell the true size of the construction project. Bed was super hard, my couch is nice and more comfortable then there beds. Staff was nice and worked with use.

Amazing front-desk staff AKA Miss Lovee

Posted Mar 15, 2016
Pros: 1. The Rooms!! 2. The volleyball court, put golf 3. Location
Cons: 1. The basketball court is weird and out of place. Hard to shoot with the rim uneven. 2. The hot tub wasn't hot 3. Continental breakfast
Location: Near shops and great food. Best beaches on the island.
We were treated like family. Miss Lovee at the front desk was the highlight of our stay. She made sure we were taken care of and always had a positive attitude. The rooms were amazing!!! It felt intimate and the views (besides the construction) were pretty great. The pool was very well designed too.

Nice hotel. We enjoyed our stay.

Koloa landing is a nice hotel located in a great location between Poipu shopping mall and the newer Poipu Uli Shopping center. It is close to several shops and restaurants. It offers 2,3, and 4 bedroom suites with full kitchens and bath rooms for the price of rooms at nearby resorts. Access is easy and convenient. They have a nice grass area which is great for kids to play soccer, volleyball, and miniature golf. The staff are wonderful. The other great thing about the property is there were no roosters which are everywhere on the island because there have no natural predators. Only draw backs were the main pool is only 3- 4 feet deep (great for small kids not so great for adults) and there was no mention that they are doing major construction (3 additional buildings, a convention center, and one of the largest pools in Kauai) which limits access around the property and direct beach access. Despite the renovations, the noise was minimal during the week we were there and the place felt relatively quiet and spacious because each unit or building had only 8 suites. The place will be amazing once renovations are complete and will definitely consider returning when we visit Kauai as it offers good value for Poipu even at $600+/day.

Great stay

This resort is not on the beach, but is on a few minute drive from serveral beaches. The pool is large and great for kids. The construction was not a problem, but I was in building 6, which is furthest from the construction. The room was huge and luxurious. We went shopping each day and cooked most meals in the kitchen. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes.

Huge mistake--Don't Stay Here!

Posted Mar 2, 2016
We were hoping for a relaxing week in a beautiful place, but when we got to our room, we realized the entire property is a construction zone. Our "partial ocean" view was obscured by a crane, three bulldozers & a steam roller, all of which beeped incessantly from 9-5 every day. Our view was a giant dirt pit & a bunch of construction guys. We were charged full price & the hotel would not relocate us. Expedia did save us (thank you, Expedia) by booking us into another hotel, but the whole ordeal ate up two days of our vacation. The room was gorgeous, and if you're reading this in 2017, might be a nice place to stay again. But don't waste any time there until construction is done.

Aloha and Mahalo for taking the time to write about your recent stay at Koloa Landing Resort and Spa! We welcome all feedback in a constant effort of striving for perfection. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for the inconveniences experienced during your stay at the property. I am sorry to hear that your stay was less than desirable. We appreciate your patience with Koloa Landing during the expansion project as we further our efforts of becoming a premier destination on Kauai. I am glad to hear that Expedia was able to relocate you so you could further enjoy the rest of your visit on the garden island. They are truly a valued business partner and for that we are thankful. I am also glad to hear that you enjoyed the rooms! We definitely pride ourselves with our room quality and have high hopes that the entire property will follow suit once the expansion is completed. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience of the expansion. We hope to see you once the Phase III project is completed. I am confident that your next stay will be far more enjoyable.

Great, but know what you're getting

Posted Feb 29, 2016
My girlfriend and I took a room here for a week in late February. The establishment was very well kept and quite nice but it is not walking distance to the beach nor does it have a lot of resort-style activities or facilities. That said, the room itself was outstanding. The kitchen is very nice and the bathroom is huge with a great big tub. Very close to a lot of great restaurants and stores, although not walking distance as advertised.

Huge room, with fully loaded kitchen (with pretty much any piece of cutlery or kitchen utensil you could possibly need), separate bedroom, large bathroom with bath & separate shower cubicle & utility room with second toilet. Generally a very good resort. Only complaint was the "free" wi-fi (actually included in the resort fee). The bandwidth you get is useless, would be better using your phone's data, except for the very poor reception in the area.
