Tommy’s stay at Dusit Thani Krabi
The check-in process was chaotic. Not sure it was related to the individual or to the staff training. I provided my AMEX card for the requested deposit but it was denied due to AMEX not being accepted by the resort. I was surprised as Hotel.com had accepted AMEX for ‘Book Now and Pay at Hotel’. I then provided my Visa card for the deposit. When I paid for my hotel charge within a few minutes, they did accept AMEX. In general, hotel reserves the deposit using the credit card and does not put through the transaction but mine was put through which was unexpected. At the time I booked the room through Hotel.com, I requested not on the ground floor. Unfortunately, it was not honoured. The Front Desk staff kept saying it would need to upgrade to Club room in order not to be on the ground floor. I booked a King Bed room but a Twin Bed room was given. Room was not exceptional clean but was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast service was quite good. Pool was okay but not magnificent. Staff at the restaurant next to the pool provided great service. Dusit sits next to a number of restaurants, 7-eleven and massage place which the location is convenient. Overall, my stay is good.
