4/5 - Good
The rock-hewn churches are magnificent. It pays to have a guide who is willing to start at 7am when services are held and the onhabitants flock to the compound. Air transortation to and from Lalibela is very reliable.

Beautiful town! Pictures don’t even do it justice! I would highly recommend this town.
The terrain was more challenging to navigate then I expected and the altitude is significant (coming from sea level). Most of the guides seem very good and I don't think anyone could navigate the churches without one.
Amazing, better in person than you can imagine!
Lalibela is worth spending more than 1-2 nights in. The people are warm and welcoming. The views are beautiful. The history comes alive every Saturday and Sunday, so if you can, stay a weekend.
If you are in Ethiopia GO VISIT! spread out the 11 churches over two days
