At best, it's only 2-star
Century Langkawi Beach Resort is in a sorry state of affairs. The hotel is in shambles. When we arrived, there were no receptionists on duty at the front desk, not at least for 20 minutes. Made a tour to their back office, even then nobody was around. The hotel is sadly understaffed, only 3 housekeepers to attend to cleaning the rooms (more than 80-room occupancy then). The sheets were not changed on a daily basis during our stay of 4 nights. There were not enough towels (hand, face and bath). The staff had to wait for replenishment from an external launderette. And these would only come by night. Our rooms were not cleaned until after 5.00 pm each day. The handles to our shower enclosure had come off and the door to our wardrobe had come apart. Furniture is old and badly scratched. There was no telephone in one of our rooms. A broom was placed at the corridor leading to the bedrooms. The swimming pool was a major disappointment - murky to be precise. Appeared it had not been serviced and cleaned for some time. The hotel cannot claim to be 4-star, at best its only 2-star.

Don't be fooled by the photos!, the place is a dump. It was previously owned by Sheraton and would have been great however for the last 6 years it looks like no maintenance has been done at all. The seaside room was dank and musty my wife has two asthma attacks the first (and only) night we stayed. The manager moved us to the Century Langkawi Resort (near the airport) for the rest of our stay and this was much better but still not good value for the money we paid. Won't stay here again either.

This place hasn’t had any real maintenance in decades. It’s not a joke or exaggeration. There is no kids club, no shuttle to the airport. The facilities are in shambles. There are loose boards with nails sticking out all over the property. There are what are supposed to be common rooms filled with garbage and termite mounds and cobwebs I’ve only seen on Disney. The advertising is false. Don’t stay here. Some of the staff is nice but trying to describe issues with the front desk leaves one very frustrated and not all issues were resolved. I’ve never staying in a hotel that lost its power. In the middle of the night the air conditioner and half the bathroom was out of power. The rest of my family, a few doors over had no power at all! It miserable to try to sleep. Then the hotel had a power outage by the power company to start at 10 am. That lasted until after 4 pm (over an hour over the scheduled time). The next morning I had no hot water, nor did the rest of my family a few rooms over. We went to the front desk and notified them. When we returned that evening they didn’t bother correcting one of the rooms. They stated someone had to come into the room to fix it. However, after hearing much banging on pipes and thumping next to the room while my child was trying to sleep, we had hot water in the morning.

1. Rooms are not clean. 2. Staff is not supportive one day room service kept the balcony door open and guess what Monkey check in to your room and eat all our food while we are away. After confromnting they have denied door was kept open by them. They Did not even came back to clean the room. 3. We asked for Wine Glasses they did not even bother to bring them even after 3 reminders. 4. There is no Wifi in Rooms its very annoying. 5. Swimming pool is so crappy you might get intent Bacterial infection as soon as you enter. We saw no one entering that crappy pool. 6. They have many restaurants shut down only one cafe was open in which they serve a same breakfast everyday there is not enough to choose. from. 7. Room service .. forget it. ITs Myth. 8. In the money you could get better deal. If you want to burn money thats fine but dont go to this resort. I did it. I am fool.

Not a nice hotel
Feel very disappointed with this hotel. Hotel room very remote，not enough of light for around outside of the room in the night , feel very not comfortable. Another one thing is every time go out feel very trouble, hotel have transport to send guest between hotel lobby and room but every time need to wait for few mins. Hotel breakfast not hygiene , the salad and fruit display with no cover and a lots of fly. Hotel swimming pool with a lots of leaf and very far with room. I'm booking two room, but display and the contents of the room are not the same. Facilities are not perfect.

Dissapointing, old and not well maintained
I tried to arrange someone to pick us up at the ferry when arriving in Langkawi. Although I send two emails, I never got a reply. So eventually we (couple +/- 30y old) just took a taxi ourselves. When we arrived we were not assisted with our luggage. Check in was okay, although there was only one staff who was also in discussion with another guest so it took a while. We were brought to our room, when arriving there was a lot of trash on the street and stairs up to our room. The room was old, decayed.and the toilet was not clean. Some lights were taken out of the wall and the curtains were not set properly. When requesting another room, we got that immediately. Although this time clean and no obvious break downs, still clearly old and not as nice look as advertised on the website. In the morning when check out, we missed the breakfast, because we had to leave early. There was no staff available to assist us during check out, so I just put the keys down. Overall a disappointing stay.

The room is a bit dated but clean. The hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere with no restaurant within walking distance. Quite hard to get food. The pool looked yellowish and quite disappointed by it and the fact that there’s technically no beach close by. The staffs are friendly though.

Surroundings fabulous, loads of greenery and monkeys. Rooms lovely and spacious. Hotel and especially grounds very tired, wood decking round pool needs redone and rooms looking tired re paintwork and bathrooms. Saying this loved our stay and would go back. Need more staff to clear up grounds.

4star is an over rating. Facilities are very dated and run down from poor maintenance. A pity as the setting and area is very peaceful and a really nice place to unwind. Staff though very helpful and pleasant so that offset the poor facilities.

Amazing room
We had some issues when we were told that our rooms were not ready as there was a late check out from previous guests. I had earlier booked 03 rooms in total and was told that all 03 rooms were not ready. I was informed that the rooms should be ready by 1630hrs. We couldn't wait at the lobby and let time pass by so we left our luggage at the lobby and headed out. I was very much impressed with the hotel rooms. It's actually huge.i definitely enjoyed my stay.

The area is not older generation friendly due to many stairs. As other review the facilities is not well maintained, Our TV and phone did not work most of the time. The toilet shower did not have holder for your toiletries. Local inform that the hotel is to be sold off soon perhaps tt could be the reason for lack of maintenance. The staff was friendly though :)

I think the whole place is neglected from the lobby area right up to the rooms. I was there abt 7 years ago when it was still Sheraton and now it is very far from Sheraton's standard. The only surviving reataurant there is struggling to operate with 2-3 floor staffs and we were the only other guest there besides a table of 3 from China. The villa we stayed in had squeeky floors and the wooden walls were rotting and practically falling apařt. I loved it when it was still Sheraton BUT i cannot say the same now. I may have to think twice abt revisiting. I loved the villa concept of their accomodation, that's why we qent back there only to be dissapointed. However, the staffs are very friendly.

Overrated 4.5 star rating hotel
Room not available during check in time. Toilet not functioning. Need to call reception twice to get it fix. Unfortunately after fix still same problem exist. Bathroom door not able to close. TV channels are limited and not clear. Air conditioning is smelly. No choice but request to change room. Another room was slightly better but bed sheet with stain. TV channel the same issue. The room condition overall is old and rusty. Reception service slow and not attentive. Only one glass in room which request for extra. First call just answer will check and hung up without any return call. Need to call second time, and she did return call and inform will bring in 10mins but till checkout never get the glass. Restaurant condition, table with ants and cushion chair with stain and dust. Luckily food was ok. Shuttle service are friendly and attentive. Pool looks not clean and appealing to use it. Getting worst compared to many years.

Zero maintained rooms - Bad facility
I had been to the hotel with family for a vacation. My experience was not good. 1. The room which I had booked was not available. 2. The room which they gave me was close to Highway which was noisy so changed immediately 3. Changed Room was so very dirty and smelly. After 15 mins of aircon the room started smelling very bad. So again room changed 4. New room was dusty and uncleaned. Not even good to walk inside. So 4 rooms changed. But as it was late night and we were still struggling to get room we had to settle in last room. Mentioned kids play areas was closed. Pool was filled with green algea. The report had no maintenance. Breakfast was good. But if you are seating there and the time is over to eat, they will switch off lights. As i was here to relax and was unable to cancel my reservation , I had to ignore this resort and enjoy the Iceland . Langkwai is very good place, and there are many other good resorts to consider across the Iceland at the same rate. Last day I did not extend the stay and moved to a better place at same rate.

Very nice resort, surrounding by nature, & beach.
Very relaxing, & peaceful place to be in, a little refuge from busy lifestyle. Breakfast is so good and fulfilling. Swimming in the pool with a feel of the ocean breeze joint together while watching and enjoying the sun rise and or sunset. Watch playful monkeys. Staff are very friendly, & helpful. Free Wi-Fi connection very good. Relatively close to major tourist attractions. It is affordable and i highly recommend it.

Somewhat outdated rooms.
We stayed in a beach front room for 3 days. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but the furniture is clearly outdated. Location was relatively far from major attractions of the island. Staff was nice and helpful. We loved the Breakfast buffet. Overall we had good times with our kids in this place.

Ok. This is not a bad hotel. However, this is not
Room - lovely view, clean, comfy bed and spacious. Also no hot water (great if you love a cool shower or bath)/and be prepared to remind the hotel that it is supposed to clean and replenish the room daily. No working safe or TV either. Hotel - shabby, very shabby. The stains on the furniture in the lobby, the closed down bars and restaurants and the poor condition of the decking by the pool and beach. There's a few other things too but beat to leave them as an amusing surprise. Overall? Wonderful and friendly staff, excellent pool which is visited regularly by a group of dusky leaf monkeys (soooooooo awesome). Staying in the jungle and seeing praying mantis, monkeys, tropical fish from the boardwalk. Also close to the cable car (pay the 50myr extra for the express pass!) Which is really awesome. We were charmed by the place but no way. No. Way. Is it the 4/5* it was advertised as x.

Rooms are smelly..feels very irritating whenever you have to go inside the room. no AC working. If you are conscious about your health then please don't have a breakfast over there. Breakfast quality really like a 1 star property.
