I waited 40 minutes in the check in line, only to be told I had been upgraded. I was directed to the Nobu Hotel behind the Caesar statue. When I arrived at Nobu desk, no line. The check in staff asked if I wanted to upgrade to a room with a good view, and I did. They also gave me tickets for free drinks. The room was fine at first.
The bed side lamps stopped working, the bathroom sink leaked at the bottom, the toilet ran for 2 hours, the sound and picture were out of sync on the TV, and the view was mostly roof top! I also paid for a late check out. I never got to have a free drink because they were only valid between 3:30 and 4:30 when I was still working. The bed pillows were very thin and would fall into the space between the mattress and the head board.
Coffee in the room was not free. Nor was there any water provided. Oh, you could go to the 72 floor (which is really the second floor) at 7 am for coffee, if you don’t have to get across the street to a conference. Very expensive and disappointing stay.
The only thing Nobu Hotel has going for it is it’s proximity to the front door!
