Old World style, minus modern comforts.Posted Aug 17, 2017
Pros: Great location.
Cons: The rooms need serious upgrades for modern travellers.
Really wanted to like this place. It's a good location, but my room was serious lacking. You get one towel, one pillow and a very austere bed which is more like a cot. No mirror except the one in the bathroom which was above the sink and small, just enough to see your face in. No shower, just a tub with spray nozzle, but there was no shower curtain or glass wall to prevent the water from going everywhere if you used it. Had to kneel in tub and carefully direct spray towards the tub wall... way too much hassel. Room was hot in August, no fan, no A/C, had to leave window open to get any airflow, but window not screened and noisy cafe' outside, which made getting any sleep before midnight difficult. Staff was curteous, though a bit unfriendly. (One desk clerk was friendlier than the other staff though, but she was only there one of the days.) Seemed like they tolerated you more than anything else. Not sure if this attitude was reserved for English speaking guests or if everyone was treated thusly.

Good place in the very heart of the cityPosted May 23, 2017
Mariahilf is a good place, perfectly located in the very historic center of the city. Easy access to everything. The room was clean, the service was good, the breakfast was really good also. Staying here was a pleasure.

Old Austrian charmePosted Jan 13, 2017
Location: You are right in the middle of Graz, go for a walk along the river, go shopping, to concerts, opera, theater, church or farmer's market.
Old style hotel, nice high ceilings. Nice breakfast room.

Central, but "disconnected"Posted Dec 8, 2016
Pros: central location, friendly staff
Cons: WLAN – please arrive in the 2010's. In the center of a rather big town like Graz it should be no problem to have a sufficient internet connection.
Location: the famous "Kunsthaus" is in front of the door as well as the central part of the old nice town.
I arrived late and needed to organise my further trip via internet. Therefore, it was a bad surprise to realise that the speed was as low as in the late 1990's … it took me 1 hour to book 1 train tickets, because the connection broke off because of the slow connectivity. Very unhelpful, sorry. – But everything else was ok.

A conveniently located hotel that is close to all major sites. The staff were friendly and the room was large and clean.

Friendly, Helpful StaffPosted Oct 25, 2016
Pros: The bed was very comfortable. Good breakfast. Great helpful staff. Lift was small but better than carrying heavy bags up stairs.
Cons: Central heating was way too warm and uncomfortable. It could not be adjusted. We slept with the window open to keep the temperature down.
Location: The hotel is located in a pedestrian zone but cars can drive in to drop off or pick up. Parking at a secure facility just 200m away.
