“As maturer visitors, we found that having only one handrail on the stairs was challenging. An extra handrail would help. Other than that it was a great stay. If we are to return to the area the Bosuns Chair would be our first choice. ”
“A very historic old hotel with an excellent location and a 3-minute walk to the attractions you are interested in.
Strangely, the parking lot downstairs is not the hamilton hotel, but its sister hotel. So drivers have to go to the paid parking lot behind the hotel. It's a little inconvenient.”
“A great place if you wana drive down the night before your cruise as its close to the terminal! Nice freindly staff, food exellent! The room was basic but clean as was the bathroom. We where in a downstairs room so we had noisy upstairs occupants so when they walked across the room you could hear the footsteps and floorboards creaking! Fire alarm went off in the early hours but that cant be helped! Not a bad stay and i would stay there again. Highly recommend the fish&chips👌”
“Highly recommend this B&B, room and bathroom immaculately clean. Malcolm meet us as hosts were out, what a fantastic man, so friendly and funny and even offered to taxi us to our party as no taxis available. Great one night stay, Graham and Kay are excellent hosts , breakfast was fantastic .cheap local parking a bonus .

Highly recommend this property.”
“Ideally placed for the New Forest, Southampton and Bournemouth, we stayed 1 night while visiting the New Forest. We were made to feel welcome, which instantly made us relaxed. The room was clean, well decorated, the bed was comfortable. The bed linen and towels felt luxurious. The weekend breakfast was excellent, we started with fresh fruit and yoghurt (cereals were also on offer) then had a full English which was cooked to perfection using good quality ingredients. ”
“This is a very well renovated B&B with nice amenities like a smart TV, kettle for tea and coffee, and a super comfortable bed. The entrance to the hotel and rooms is controlled by an electronic code. There is a modest continental breakfast on offer with the option for boiled eggs and a sausage or bacon sandwich. The waterfront is a short walk away and the historic dockyards are about a 20-minute walk. The room was quiet and had a chiller fan. You could also open the windows for fresh air. We……
“I only stayed for one night but wishing I stayed for longer now! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Absolutely loved the space, the bedroom was comfortable and clean, and gave a very homey b&b feeling. I took transit and found it fairly straightforward to get to. And its an easy walk to the Tennyson monument! Would definitely recommend!”
“Absolutely fabulous. Really clean and comfortable comfy beds.so many towels again of really great quality. Lots of attention to detail including ceiling fans which are totally silent. Great place ”
“Such a wonderful welcome from Nigel and the staff. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will be booking again. Rooms spotless and comfortable. Beautiful home with fascinating history. Thank you to all the team”
“very convenient to whitelink ferry and as a base to visit attractions, room had own reserved parking space, great location , good food and very friendly staff”
“The location of the house was a short walk from the train station. The neighbourhood felt safe and clean. The house itself was well looked after and clean. Directions to find the house and get in were easy to follow. My room was spacious, airy and the bed was very comfortable. Great value for money, I would stay again! ”
“The shopkeeper was very enthusiastic and generous, the check-in was smooth and pleasant.
The manor is in a good location, quiet & beatutiful, you can walk to most of the scenic spots in Winchester.
The breakfast was delicious, and we also met other friendly customers to enjoy a good breakfast together. A highly recommended B&B.”
“I booked the Beach House, due to going to Goodwood for a few days. It had good reviews. I was not disappointed. Parking at the rear of the property was a little narrow, but once round the back, plenty of space. Also parking at the front.
Good instructions pre arrival and knew where to find our room. Useful manual in the room. Lovely, comfortable room. Shower was big and good facilities in the room. Felt very homely. Shared communal lounge, downstairs, if we so wished.
Breakfast room was lovely,……
"The location is not good, far away from the city center. The room is not very clean. The staff will not let you feel welcome. The car park is not on site the hotel, need to walk to the public car parking , walk 5-7 mins. I will not stay at this hotel again. "
"First night ( Saturday night) it was so noisy until midnight:( .
Second night is much better.
You book 2 nights, they don’t clean your room next day:(
Overall it’s good place to stay."
