Little Maine cottage on Barker's pond road. Adorable accommodations for 2 to 4 in a Maine lake setting. Perfect location close to everything but with a secluded feeling. Bring your paddle boards, fishing poles, hiking boots. Excellent little cottage for Ice fisher-people! Great trails for ATV's , hiking or biking. We provide 2 Old Town Kayaks with life jackets and paddles.

Cozy Little Cabin
Nice cabin right on a little pond, was clean and well cared for. Owner met us for check in and was attentive to issue with a power outage due to a storm. The cabin had a generator, so we didn't miss a beat. The cabin had all the necessary amenities for a nice stay. Overall a good experience.

Excellent and surprisingly beautiful
We arrived after dark and when we arrived we were greeted by twinkling lights and dancing torches. The whole pond was sprinkled with similar decor. We squeezed in a morning kayak and mile long walks. So beautiful and happy. Hosts were gregarious and all the towns were twenty minutes away that offered fine dining and shopping. Purchased lots of Lilly Pulitzer, antiques and stopped for ice cream too. A perfect holiday weekend.

Great place to stay
We rented the cabin because our son was getting married over the weekend a short drive away. We were not there much, but wished we had more time to explore the area. The pond view in the early morning was nice and quiet. The owners were both very nice. The cabin was as described and the added beverages to the fridge and coffee supplies were greatly appreciated.

Perfectly Quaint Get-Away
Loved this cabin in the woods of Maine, off the beaten path, on a beautiful, quiet, clear pond. Our hosts were nearby and gracious, but never bothersome. Our accommodations were perfect for two of us. Cozy, clean, unique, private, relaxing. We were allowed use of kayaks and thoroughly enjoyed our strolls around the pond in them. There were comfortable chairs on a deck right at the water's edge so we could watch nature come alive every morning and evening. A resident loon, a bald eagle, jumping fish, squirrels, chipmunks, bumble bee, and a neighborhood lab dog that loved to swim in the pond. We would highly recommend this venue!

Excellent Vacation Rental
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! There was plenty of room for a family of four. Access to the lake was right at our back door. We enjoyed the dock and the kayaks. The owners are also very nice! Our daughter was sick on one of our days here and they offered to drive into town for us to get her medicine if needed. We lost one day of sightseeing because of her sick day, but we were able to keep ourselves and our other child entertained on the lake. Would definitely stay here again!

The house was the perfect spot for us. The host was very nice and we enjoyed our stay very much. It was nice to sit on the dock with a coffee in the morning or in the evening with a glass of wine. The home was very clean and cozy.

Beautiful Pond
Overall, we enjoyed our stay - particularly kayaking and paddle boarding on the pond. The house is rustic and minimalist (4 forks, 4 dinner plates, only two seats at the indoor table, etc.) but we made it work. It did need to be cleaned a bit better, but we took care of that and it was ok. I think we may have had an off-visit, as I noticed many reviews mentioning they had things that were missing for us. Hosts were very responsive when we reached out, which was appreciated. The pond really is the best part, and we enjoyed it so much, even with our rainy weather. The neighbors put on an amazing fireworks show for the 4th! It may be helpful for others to know the house is accessed by a dirt road that goes around the pond. I'm sure it's not a problem for most, but it was a little tough in our small sedan (especially with all the rain).

We were looking for a low key friends weekend, a place to hang out by the fire and relax. Penny and Pete’s place was perfect! Clean and cozy, they provided all the amenities one would need (charcoal for grill, wood for fire, bottles of water, towels, etc) overall a great stay!

Fantastic getaway!
We had a great 3 night stay. The owners live next door, greeted us as soon as we pulled up, and gave us a walk thru on the entire house and property and thoroughly explained everything available and how it worked. Beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing setting while still not too far away from the general store or more popular attractions. Would highly recommend!!

Quaint and perfect
This is a gem the perfect size for our little family. A good half hour from Portland, is this home with its own driveway, fire pit, kitchen and all the amenities needed for your trip. Penny greeted us upon arrival and gave us a detailed tour of the house. Pretty close to a target and shopping area but you probably won’t need to considering you have all the essentials at this VRBO. Everything provided is exactly described in the listing. Thank you for the great stay! Loved paddling and fishing on the pond as well.

The house was in the middle of three houses located in a very quiet section of the lake - The owners live adjacent to the rental and we’re very nice and accommodating . The lake is a walk down to the deck from the rental house and kayaks are located there too. Glad we stayed there instead of a hotel for the limited time we had. Joe M

Loved that the cabin was over the lake. The area was quiet & nestled in the woods. Shawn & Penelope were quick to respond to our questions & greeted us with a tour. Loved all the personal touches in the rental & reading the wall plaques.....very roomy & comfortable. Close to all our activities! highly recommend if you are visiting the area!

We had one of the best vacation here. First off the hosts were amazing and very friendly we enjoyed talking with them. The cabin was everything we needed plus more. The pond was very warm and great to swim and kayak. It was also close to everything we wanted to do (old orchard Beach and saco) would recommend people to stay here

Beautiful stay!
This property was a lovely waterfront retreat. Being able to sit on the private deck overlooking the pond while sipping our morning coffee was very relaxing. Kayaking on the pond was a plus. This small and cozy cottage made good use of every space inside. The fire pit, picnic table, and charcoal grill allowed for a restful family evening dinner. Great location with quick access to Old Orchard Beach and Portland. Will definitely stay here again if we return to Maine. Meeting the owner’s three dogs (Teddy, Bella, and Lila) was fun!

Fun Stay
My friend and I stayed for 9 days and we had a lot of fun. The pond was beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed swimming and sitting on the dock/patio. The house is 3 levels with a bedroom in the basement, kitchen and bathroom in the middle, and family room/bedroom on the top floor. The owners were very kind and available to help if we needed it. We very much enjoyed our stay!

Perfect Getaway
We loved being here, it was quiet and the perfect weekend away for us to celebrate my husbands birthday. We brought food to cook breakfast and lunch at the cabin, and were able to cook just fine with the kitchen amenities provided. We easily traveled to Portland and neighboring cities for dinner after a day of fishing, kayaking and relaxing. It is good to note as another review stated that the cabin is right next door to the owners and other cabins on the pond, super easy check in and friendly hosts. If you’re looking for total isolation this might not be the spot! The cabin is also a split level style, you walk into the main level with kitchen and bath, upstairs is a second bedroom and living space and downstairs is the main bedroom which was helpful during the summer since it stayed nice and cool without air conditioning.
