Very nice older hotel in a great location, right across the street from the Park of Madrid. You pay a little extra for the breakfast, which was good. They had non-dairy and gluten free options. They fry eggs upon request, otherwise you just get eggs sitting in a hot pot. One of the big minuses for us was that the hotel advertised as having Air Conditioning. Of course we assumed that meant room controlled air conditioning. The first night we could not figure out the air conditioning and the room got really hot, so we opened the windows which allowed all the street noise to come in. When we asked the front desk about the air conditioning they explained that they have no control over the AC since it is set to turn on only when the outdoor temperature reaches a specified level. We complained for a few days straight and just kept getting the standard run around. We weren't the only ones complaining, our friends and many other hotel guests stated they were experiencing the same issues with AC and the Staff's respond. After about 3 - 4 days, the AC finally came on. If it wasn't for the AC situation, I would have given the hotel 4 stars.

The hotel is very dingy! Old and not kept up at all - from the lobby and hallways to the room. No air-conditioning in May (the reason given by staff was bc it's still cold outside)?? Wow, it's May! Opening windows was not a choice because the loud music and horrific dirty court-yard ie. outside space surrounded by building walls. Everything about the bathroom was disgusting...an old and dirty hairdryer was permanently plugged in (I guess so it couldn't be stolen?). I could go on and on...Anyway, I don't understand who is rating this hotel as an excellent one? This is a 1 star hotel!

Property is directly across from the Retiro and in a beautiful area. The hotel is in need of some updating. We had a patio overlooking the park that was dusty and not really comfortable for sitting. Also the windows could have been cleaner especially since they do not open so there was no option for looking out. The room was comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

The location is fantastic, right opposite a gate to the beautiful park. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean. I think the decor of corridors is a bit overly-modern for this beautiful period property, but that's just my taste. Didn't have the breakfast, but there is a great coffee shop a few doors away.

The hotel is very well located, we had the quadruple room which was large and the beds were comfy. It gave to an inner courtyard which made it quiet since the hotel a on a busy street. To be picky, the only thing I did not like was the decoration inside being ultra modern in an art deco historic building. Other than that it was a great propriety though we only enjoyed it for one night.

It’s across from park but this property is a 2 star max. Old dirty carpets, room was depressing, too hot at night. Not enough seating in breakfast area so we could never eat. Not proper welcome or directions by the staff about lobby or facilities.

Good hotel. Good breakfast with variety and comfort. Clean. Good service. The only complain is the magnetic key to the room. It works only after 5-6 tries.

Hotel and Room was perfect. Included breakfast was great. Everyone at the front desk, at the restaurant and in charge of services at the hotel were efficient and kind. Exactly the nice and comfortable place offered. This is a hotel in a very safe, nice and convenient place in Madrid. It is just across El Retiro Park and at 250 meters from Puerta de Alcala. Important sites to visit, good restaurants, parks, museums, train station, convenience stores and more are a few steps from the hotel or at a short walking distance. I do advise everyone traveling to Madrid to stay here. Congratulations to the whole staff

Great location and very helpful and friendly staff. Bedrooms and baths constructed of cheap materials and are charmless. TVs not very good.

We had a wonderful time at this property! We were traveling with our two kids (age 11 and 7) and stayed in the Junior Suite. The room itself was beautiful with a separate adult bedroom and bunk beds for the kids in the main room. There was a wrap around balcony facing Retiro Park, which is across the street. The breakfast buffet was delicious and very beautifully displayed. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a fantastic stay which exceeded our expectations, and we will certainly be back to stay at this gorgeous property.

Rooms were renovated and clean. Many bright green and blue lights in the room which made it hard to sleep. An emergency light came on a 4am due to the storm which stayed on for 4 hrs.
