“From arriving to leaving Catherine was the best hostess ever. Most helpful with tips re where we could get a good evening meal and short cuts to the park and ride. Choices for breakfast were excellent although we just opted for cereal, yogurt and toast. Rooms are first class. I had a great nights sleep. First class rooms and I will certainly recommend. “Excellent location for both forest and local villages and towns. Quiet location, all meals very good, breakfast you couldn’t ask for more options. Staff excellent , efficient, yet couldn’t do more. Beers from Cropton brewery excellent and good choices. Some of building from 400 years very quirky rooms on multiple levels, confusing at first but yousoon become accustomed.”

“- The shale beach across the road was the most amazing I have ever seen. - The menu is misleading. My husband wanted NO ALCOHOL beer because he is allergic to alcohol. The NO ALCOHOL beer on the menu said 0.0% alcohol. What arrived was what the waitress said was NO ALCOHOL but it actually was 0.5% alcohol. We sent it back, and I did tell the waitress the menu was incorrect and that she should mention it to management, but she did not seem interested in doing anything about it.”

“The bedroom & en suite were very tastefully decorated, with the decor exactly to our taste! The Bella Rose coffee shop was used throughout our stay & the staff were very welcoming & accommodating. The 15% discount was used each time we ate there which was a bonus as thought it might be a one-off. Peasholm Park on the doorstep was a huge plus too! My only criticism of our stay was that I made the owners aware that I was allergic to fur & feathers beforehand & I particularly queried any cushions...
