"My girlfriend and myself visited Starved Rock for the weekend with our dog Cooper. This was a perfect, cozy, comfortable place for us to call home for the weekend. Check in was simple and easy. Dog treats, poop bags and towels for dirty paws were there for us which was a wonderful touch. The house was clean, the shower pressure was excellent and the backyard was wonderful to grill and make a fire. The living room was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Overall a 10/10 experience! "

"This a beautiful home in a fantastic location only a block from downtown and a short drive to Stsrved Rock. The house is beautiful with tons of character and modern features. The bedroom layout was perfect for our very inviting and the back deck and firepits were very inviting to enjoy even cool weather. We would definitely stay here again!"

"Based on the pictures you would think this was a simple but very nice home. However, once we checked in, just from the outside you could tell it has not been kept up. The deck is worn and weeds and trees are growing along side it. Inside, there were numerous things wrong, including a strong smell of cat pee that was in the hallway and got stronger in the bedroom. "We wanted to get away for a couple days to see fall colors and hike near Starved Rock. This little house in the small town of DePue IL perfectly met our expectations. We had a great time looking at all the interesting decorations. While in DePue be sure to get a pork tenderloin at Casford’s Crossing!"

"We had a great spring break stay and loved the house! The kids had so much fun playing air hockey and ping pong, there were treats for our pup, and we had plenty of room to spread out and relax after a long day of hiking. Also a great location- we had ice cream every day! Our kiddos insist we only stay here when we visit going forward- so much fun!"

"Great place for a girls retreat. 8 of us ( all family) had a nice time. It was secluded but only 4 min from Lacon with a nice gift/thrift store, and restaurants, winery near by also. It’s on a wetland where you can go on a hike. Lots of wild life ( deer, geese, snake, ducks were seen) the house was stocked very well. Owner was easy to get ahold of. Great house great time! "

"before arriving contacted property manager, asked about kitchen, was told i would have everything i would need to prepare a meal. Found no bakeware, or microwave ware, no measuring cups or spoons, only 4 forks and knives, 4 bowls, no strainer, no hand soap, garbage bags. Pots and pans that were there were dirty, all needed to be cleaned. The entire place was dirty, needs a deep cleaning.
