Great location, but noisy renovation

The location of this hotel can't be beat. In the middle of the desirable Kaanapali neighborhood, this hotel is a bargain. I first visited this hotel eleven years ago on my honeymoon and decided to come back with my two kids this fall.
Much of what I remembered about the hotel was still the same. We stayed in one of the cottages because it felt better, a little more exotic, than staying in the main tower.
Unfortunately, several of the cottages were in the middle of being renovated so there was some noise and construction activity going on during the week. Also, the tiny AC unit in our room had one broken button; the button that turned the temperature control UP. It was stuck at 60 degrees the entire time we were there, but it turned out to not be much of a problem as the unit still struggled to get the extremely humid air down into the 70s overnight. The remodeled units had much larger and newer AC units, so I assume they would have no problem keeping the room comfortable.
Still an amazing hotel and I would come back again.
