Best rental yet!
I have stayed in rentals up and down both the east and west coast, all along the gulf coast and in, at least, 15 states in the interior of the USA. I feel that I have a pretty good pool of experience to draw from when I say that this cabin was one of the best we stayed in. Quiet, secluded, intimate, yet close enough that 20 minutes either east or west put you in a town that had whatever you needed. You cannot go wrong with this cabin, the location, the hosts; all top notch. We plan on returning in the Spring and renting this cabin and the other close by for our whole family.

Peaceful Stay Steps from the Bogue Chitto River
We really enjoyed our three night stay at Wild Fern cabin! First of all, the location is excellent for relaxing and unwinding: nestled into the edge of a forest (at the end of a sleepy town), and just steps away from the Bogue Chitto, we woke each morning to the sounds of birds singing and squirrels chattering. We spent many hours just sitting outside, listening to the forest and gazing at the river. The cabin itself is a treat: its historic origins and decor enable you to immerse yourself in a simpler lifestyle. The interior is clean, and well kept, and comfortable; the hosts cover all the basics. The fire pit outside is a great conversation area; escape the mosquitos in the screen porch if needed. There is no WiFi and cell service is spotty, but that is actually an asset in this case: we were able to tune out of the screens and tune in to nature. Hosts were friendly and just across the way if any need arises. I hope we are able to return again soon!

Relaxing Weekend
My husband and I needed a break from the business of life and Wild Fern was the perfect place. No TV (due to us having low cell service so our hotspot wouldn’t connect) got my husband to truly relax and not just drown out overactive mind. We sat in cool water at the creek and spent quality time talking and he got a much needed uninterrupted nap. If you are looking for a place to unplug then I recommend this home.

Peaceful Retreat!
The property was everything described and more! Perfect location and property to relax and unplug. Loved the mornings and evenings on back porch. Comfortable even in 90 degree weather. The little oasis by river is perfect for coffee or an afternoon drink and relaxation. The water was just right height to wade or sit my chair down in and just enjoy. Highly recommend this property and absolutely will return. The owners were very welcoming and a phone call away, if needed.

Quiet and peaceful!
Pictures don't do this cabin justice! The fireflies at night are spectacular! I stayed for a long solo weekend to get out of the city and unplug. This place is perfect for a solo trip or for couples. It's small but cozy and has everything you need, including a bluetooth speaker, crock pot and bathroom toiletries. The river is only a short walk down a grassy trail, and it is easy to walk into the river (bring water shoes for the rocks!). I enjoyed drinking coffee in the chairs by the bank and listening to nature. There is also a bamboo grove off of the trail, as well as other short hiking/walking trails. I took many naps on the screened porch in the zero-gravity chairs, and enjoyed a campfire each night in the fire pit (firewood was provided). Jane and Benton are incredible hosts who are ready to help with anything- you won't be disappointed!

Charming and restful
Our stay was too short but we really enjoyed the screened in porch! We came in March so the temperature was perfect for porch sitting and the river is beautiful! Don't forget to take your bug spray! The hosts were excellent!
