Great Massanutten Family Retreat
This is a very nice property so close to the slopes at Massanutten. We were a multi-family group of all ages from 10-73 and we had a lovely time and were very comfortable in the home. The kids had lots of room to play and be loud in the lower level while the adults took over the main floor and every family/couple had their own bedroom which was great! And who doesn't love to relax in a hot tub after a day of skiing? We had everything we needed in the kitchen and even games to keep us further occupied when we had downtime. Highly recommend this mountain getaway.

Mountain top Christmas
Our group or 13 adults and children spent the Christmas holidays at this comfortable house. The "digital fireplace" was a highlight of the living room as well as the large sectional sofa. The house was very clean and comfortable and the bumper pool table and hot tub were enjoyed by many of us. We had a glitch that the owner was very quick to respond to even though it was a holiday. The area is lovely and the view from the back of the house was really nice.

Great little cabin get away!
Some friends and I booked this place to use for our annual JMU vs App State football tradition, and the cabin was conveniently located in masanutten right near JMU. We were able to enjoy the hot tub and wild life on a perfect November weekend in Virginia. The house was beautiful and fit our needs!

The house is very spacious and the bedrooms were very comfortable. We had plenty of towels and linen and all the appliances/amenities were in great working order! We would have appreciated a few more trash bags as we were only given two for a large group but other than that everything was exactly as we could have hoped for. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Family Getaway
This lodge was the perfect setting for a weekend with our family. Location was ideal, close to everything Massanutten has to offer. The house was spacious and included everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Cozy and comfortable. The owner was quick to respond and resolve a minor issue. 10/10 would stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful place nestled in the mountains!

Perfect for our needs
The house was very comfortable and had everything someone would need. The only thing we cooked was coffee and microwave popcorn but I'm sure one could do other things. The outside deck was great. Never made it down to the hot tub though. Anyway, thanks for letting us stay at your house for the weekend.

Unexpected issues
This house has potential with a well stocked kitchen and a very responsive owner. Unfortunately, we got off to a rocky start with unmade bunk beds, hot tub with only one jet working, and soap stained shower curtains that we had to take down and wash. Furthermore, the master shower was clogged (and was fixed immediately)Finally, the front porch was missing a railing which was a safety issue for our youngest child. There were 12 of us and we were comfortable in the house and had a good time!

Tatiana, Thanks for your feedback. We have the front porch scheduled to be fixed this week and I notified you of the problem beforehand and we had it taped off. The hot tub which we also let you know about has a part called a diverter which has been on back order for a couple of weeks but should be fixed soon. We apologize for the inconveniences but we are doing are best to address these items ASAP.

We had a great time at the Rainer Lodge. David was responsive and great to work with. The kids loved the hot tub. We all enjoyed seeing the animals that would visit the back yard in the evenings. It was a nice area to visit with plenty of things to do.

Nice overall stay
We were a large group of friends gathering for a reunion in the area. The house was spacious and clean with plenty of room for our group. The kitchen is small and difficult for meal prep for a group, also I would say it wasn't well stocked (be sure to bring oil or anything you need beyond salt and pepper, no kitchen towels provided and only paper towels--you'll need more if you bring a group, no garbage disposal which is always hard when cooking with a group). Also there were no extra towels or sheets provided. The light in the hot tub and half the jets didn't work. The host was very communicative when we had any questions or concerns. Overall it was a nice stay.

Our group really enjoyed this house and spent most of our time hanging around the gas firepit. There was more than enough room for two families and the bedrooms were comfortable. Having the hottub was nice on the cooler nights.

This property was amazing!, so much so that we extended an extra day. The house is the perfect size to escape to, it was wonderful for my family of five, and had space to spare as well. The host called me directly when we wanted to extend and even gave us more time to check out. Hands down the best experience we could have asked for, for our first mini vacation in ten years! We LOVED the fire pit out back (we made s’mores!) it was well placed and had a pretty neat view at night. The dinning room table was big enough for our family as well, and was great to sit around and joke over the weekend, and last but not least the main bedroom is HUGE, which gave my wife and I space separate from the kids, which is much needed after a day at the splash park!.

The location of this property is perfect, it is extremely close to all the resort has to offer. We stayed with three families and it was perfect for all of us. We enjoyed the hot tub and watching the deer in the evenings. The kitchen is well stocked even to cook for our large group. I highly recommend this property as we will be staying there again.

Rainier Lodge was the perfect fit for our group of 13 (3 families, 'kids' ranging from 12 to 19 yo) for a long weekend of snow tubing, hiking, and relaxing. The house was clean and well-appointed, walkable to everything we needed, and the floorplan was excellent. David was very responsive to any questions we had. We'll definitely be back!

Great house!
We were very, very happy with this property. It was our first time staying at this house (we have rented before in Massanutten) and we needed something that would accommodate our family for Christmas. The house is well-kept and freshly updated. The owner was great with communication and let us know we could check in early, which was really nice. The beds were very comfortable and there was more than enough room for all of us (my family, my sister's family, and my parents). We never felt crowded or on top of each other. The kitchen is small, but with enough space that we never felt crowded when cooking, and there's a large table that we were able to seat 11 of us comfortably on Christmas day. We will definitely stay here again!

Great Family House
The property was beautiful. The location on the mountain was breathtaking. As a travel agent I wouldn’t mind recommending this property to my clients. I have only 3 negative take away from the property. 1) The house was not supplied with any cleaning supplies. For example no Lysol, bleach, bleach wipes, trash bags, and paper toilets. I disagree that we had to buy additional cleaning items while on vacation. 2) The room upstair on left (small room) bed is horrible. The bed needs to be replaced. The most uncomfortable bed. The middle of the bed is just gone. All the other guests were happy with there sleeping arrangements. 3) The kitchen is small. If your planning to do a big meal there is no counter space. Overall the house is great.

Forever Friends Couple Weekend
David was a pleasure to deal with and we enjoyed our stay. The home is spacious and a great getaway for groups and families. It is well equipped. We throughly enjoyed the deck and fire pit. The cleanliness needs some tweaking as well as the towel and washcloth count for the number of people using the home. These are easy fixes with some communication the cleaning staff. Great stay!
We had 2 families meeting halfway to spend a few days together. One family had 2 parents, a newborn and a 4 year old. The other family had one parent, an 8 year old and a 12 year old. There was more than enough room for everyone to spread out and be comfortable and the common areas were more than large enough to accommodate our group. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. And the resort was great with plenty to do for all the different ages of kids. We had a great time visiting and this house was the perfect place for us to gather.
