My stay at the beacon was not what i expected. My friends and i kept getting locked out of our room due to the keys not working. They switched our rooms and we finally thought that issue was done but nope the same thing happened at the next room. They gave us champagne but that didn’t cut it because we were constantly inconvenienced and then we asked them to clean the room and all they did was bring more towels

Dinning options in the hotel were great. I did appreciate the fact that housekeeping staff accommodated needs. What I did not like was that there was an issue with bugs(cockroach) to be exact, that I had to take care of. Also there was an pipe bursting issue with the hotel that prompted them to turn off the entire water supply without any warning and I was lathered in the middle of showering. I had to get out wet and call front desk, all to b told an approximate time the water wld b back on....and then wasn't, and had to wait an additional 20min sudsy in a robe.

The hotel pictures are very deceptive. Everything is old and pained over. None of the cute decor is in the actual lobby. No Queen chair!!!! Our room had much rust in the bathroom and light fixtures in the room. The lamp shades, the curtains and the floors were dirty. The garden is not a garden at all. Upon arrival I called and said I would be there by 11 pm was told no problem. However, there was no one there to greet us. We had to wait 20 mins for someone to walk in to help us. He was nice though. The breakfast is not the food in the pictures it’s very limited and not the best. The hotel is located in a great spot and the Scarface Steps next door was nice to see. Other then that… book at your own risk. I was very disappointed.

The room was very tiny especially the bathroom. Did not like the glass doors for the bathroom. Has no refrigerator in the room. No pool no area to hang out inside the hotel. It’s not a great hotel if you have children.

When I checked in the room has stains on toilet and cleaning isn’t that great. Sand residue etc. the elevator is very slow and hotel is very dated. No real amenities outside of bikes, towels, beach chairs. No seating at breakfast and you have to take your food up to your room. Just very average, I won’t ever return.

The property is old and a bit run down, but that is to be expected with an older, historic hotel. My issue is not so much with the property, but more with the service. We stayed two days prior to a cruise and wanted to cancel the two days we’d booked at the end of the cruise but the staff made it impossible. Nobody answered the phone for three days (no lie) and nobody responded to an email I sent. A third party tried to assist and couldn’t reach anybody at the property either. On the day of check in, I finally reached someone at the front desk but I was told there was no manager on site until 9:00 am. When I called at 9:00 am, they said the manager was in a meeting. Long story short, they wouldn’t provide a refund because they said I didn’t cancel in time! They offered a partial refund and credit for a future stay. I am currently checked in at a hotel downtown because I am certain we would have been poorly treated if we decided to check in at the Beacon. They got our money for nothing but I won’t give them any more of my energy (except to warn people away). They could have and should have given a one-time courtesy and removed the fee. A 72-hour cancel policy when you play games and make it impossible to reach you smacks of a racket. Beware.

The location of the property was great, as far as proximity to the beach and surrounding restaurants. The rooms do not look at all like the photos online. Although the rooms were fairly clean, the furniture was old, one of our rooms had an odor, and we didn't have a sitting chair in one of the rooms. When we asked for one, the staff did bring one but it was not stable. The biggest issue was with the customer service at the front desk leading up to our stay and upon us checking out. My daughter booked the rooms through Expedia. I can't understand why hotels do not want to assist with anything upon learning it was booked through a third party. At any rate, The Beacon debited my daughter's account for $184.48 for each room prior to us checking in. My daughter was not going on this trip, her card was used for the reservation. The confirmation email stated the card would not be charged UNLESS canceled after the grace period. The rooms were NOT reserved in her name, but in my name and my sister's name (we were the two visiting Miami). My daughter called Expedia. Expedia called The Beacon, and they were informed that The Beacon does their own billing and does not go through Expedia Like some properties. We spoke with Oscar at the front desk on 07-08-2024 (from The Beacon Miami), inquiring on if there would be an issue with us checking in if not using the same card. Oscar, who didn't want to give his name was rude. (I've run out of space)

We stayed here for two nights with my friends and we had fun!! Location is great, walking distance to everything, employees were nice and helpful and they have a good breakfast selection. The room is not spacious though , bathroom is so small, no closet to hang on your clothes, elevator can only fit 4 person. This hotel is good for short & long stay, however, if you’re a picky person who also likes to complain, I don’t recommend this place for you. If you have more than two people in your group, I recommend booking two different rooms but if you don’t mind having a small room together then you’re good. Oh and I almost forgot to mention, the bed is so comfortable!
