Not the standard of a Marriott Marquis

I travelled wih my husband and 2 kids and after reserving 2 king beds and getting there, they told me those rooms did not come with 2 king beds. So I said, I am stuck here now and we don't fit in the beds... Can I get an extra bed? Great answer: no. Also the bathroom super small shower. The spa is another story... i almost got yelled at for being 5 min late ... It's a spa! How can this awful attitude be? I understand I was late but I also assume the consequences of 5 min ... Finally, valet parking ... Avg wait time after paying 45$ a night is 30 min but the worst was 45min and their answer when you ask is .... Its coming, its coming! Great with 2 small kids dying to go out and you take 45 min to bring the car. Totally disrespectful & frustrating. On a positive side, the bowling, pool table facilities where great. I have been in many hotels around the world that cost the same high price and this is clearly defficient with the worst combination of lack of customer service & lack of wanting to do something about it. They simply dont care ...

I had a great experience just perfect!!! The staff were just amazing very friendly and its close to bayside and have everything you need around there, the hotel its gorgeous and clean and the pool is very pretty, a little bit small but nice overall ill come back to stay i had a fantastic time see you soon miami.

Pros: Elegant, good location, good service
Cons: Attention to detail. See my experience above.
Location: Very Central, next to Bayside and AA arena. WholeFoods next door was a big plus. Not near the beach if your are a beachgoer...
Attention to detail; like one day that we arrived at night and the room was still not done...also it took some time until our room was assigned when we arrived. We went to use the recreational facilities (for which they were charging $15 daily) and although most were empty, we couldn't use any because we have not reserved in advance...

Good Downtown hotel

Good rooms. Pool can get shaded from sun by other tall buildings. Staff very helpful. Don't do what we did and initially went to the JW Marriott instead of the JW Marriott Marquis. Similar names with both hotels on the same road. would recommend for downtown. Can walk to Bayside for a lively evening

Pros: Location, relaxing environment and spacious comfortable rooms.
Cons: Less expensive valet parking rate.
Location: Central location. Fine dining, cultural activities (musea), American Airlines arena and jogging/walking routes.
Very well situated hotel in Brickell neighbourhood with restaurants, musea within walking distance. In house db Bistro is a must. Also good accessibility to I95 and other highways. 20 minutes from airport. Relaxing hotel environment with spacious and comfortable rooms. Choose room with bay view for terrific views of Miami. Nice jogging and walking routes within the Brickell area. Ideal for R&R and a real taste of Miami living.

Needs maintenance and not handicapped friendly

Pros: The DB Bistro serves good food.
Cons: Get the maintenance crew working and carpet cleaned! When you promised a handicapped room, make it available!
We stayed here before and after our cruise. We booked both visits before leaving home. During the first stay, the bathroom sink leaks. During the second stay, the air conditioning fan was broken. Although the front desk changed the room for us, but it wasted us time to pack and unpack. Carpet is dirty in the hallway and room. Waiting for the elevator could be long. We also tried to get a handicapped room for my mother in-law and that was a struggle. Don't believe the front desk if they promise you a handicapped room will be available for you. If you are a handicapped person, don't stay here.

Not a fan of the $15 a day amenities!!!

My husband and I were there for four days for my 50th birthday!! One of amenities included was use of the pool, will the evening of my birthday we wanted to use the pool before our late dinner and someone had reserve the entire evening to closing!! I understand the hotel will except a large rental fee for someone's personal useage, but how unfair it is for all other paying guest for amenities!! I complained to Terry at the front desk and the manger on staff that night said he would comp me for the issue and would make a note of the issue!! Well once I recieved my bill it wasn't comped, even after a courtesy call voicemail!!!and I still had to explain again at checkout!!! It was then handled!! We were able to play a game of pool, but couldn't use the bowling alley. As we were in the pool area, maintenance men locked down the bowling alley around 9:45ish, on May 27th my husband went to knock of the door and the men stated it would not be open for the rest of the night!!!! So unfair, but I didn't complain, just didn't want to miss up my week!! The next day we had a big day planned for South Beach and back to enjoy Bayside events!!! Other than those issues the hotel is beyond great!!! I am a Marriott member, and I always stay at Marriott hotels because I enjoy the professionalism they offer!!
