“Great location, staff was very friendly and cooked us a very tasty breakfast. Room was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. Street parking was very full so had to park one street away but promenade and restaurants are all within walking distance so no need to move the car after securing a spot.”
“We stayed there for 5 nights with our 2 teen girls joining over the weekend. Everything was really good: the hospitality, the room and bedding, breakfast, local restaurant guide and even the flush at the toilet. Parking was an issue after 8pm as usually all the closest parking lots would be full.”
“The room was very clean and the staff try friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent lovely produce. No problems with parking. We really enjoyed our stay”
“Lovely atmosphere great staff
Ask for a quiet room at the back.
Our room was at the front, such a shame we had very little sleep due to the traffic noise.”
“There was a golden wedding lunch party on the Saturday I stayed and one couple brought their dog which constantly yapped all afternoon when they left it outside in the garden. It did not make for a very relaxing afternoon reading on the terrace.”
“This place is fantastic. A truly independent pub. Superb home-cooked food. Good beer and wine. Excellent overnight accommodation. And wonderful all-round hospitality and service. Hats off to the landlord Jaz. Well worth the short detour from the South Downs Way.”
“Registration was cursory. Certainly not rude, just “fill in your details and here’s your key.” No offer of assistance for two seniors to carry suitcases up narrow stairs. No further information offered.
Room was adequate. Shower is traditional British style - in a very high narrow tub, very dangerous for seniors in my opinion. Notice in room that no outside food allowed, and may result in an additional charge. Overall good value for money, but more of a two star than a three star hotel. ”
