“Great stay - highly recommend the breakfast. Great beach view from the room we stayed in on the top floor but be ready to climb a few flights of stairs.”
“The property was lovely. We stayed in room 9 as it was located on the ground floor and I use a wheelchair, plenty of room. We had a snack Friday evening and it was lovely food. The staff were very friendly, chatty and accommodating. Easy to find. Definitely will stay here again.”
“There was a golden wedding lunch party on the Saturday I stayed and one couple brought their dog which constantly yapped all afternoon when they left it outside in the garden. It did not make for a very relaxing afternoon reading on the terrace.”
“We stayed there for 5 nights with our 2 teen girls joining over the weekend. Everything was really good: the hospitality, the room and bedding, breakfast, local restaurant guide and even the flush at the toilet. Parking was an issue after 8pm as usually all the closest parking lots would be full.”
“This place is fantastic. A truly independent pub. Superb home-cooked food. Good beer and wine. Excellent overnight accommodation. And wonderful all-round hospitality and service. Hats off to the landlord Jaz. Well worth the short detour from the South Downs Way.”
“Registration was cursory. Certainly not rude, just “fill in your details and here’s your key.” No offer of assistance for two seniors to carry suitcases up narrow stairs. No further information offered.
Room was adequate. Shower is traditional British style - in a very high narrow tub, very dangerous for seniors in my opinion. Notice in room that no outside food allowed, and may result in an additional charge. Overall good value for money, but more of a two star than a three star hotel. ”
“Had it all. Great position to Alfriston high street. 6 mins walk. Alongside Cuckmere river and walks. Pool and spa are brilliant. Can’t wait to go again. Food brilliant. Staff so good. Can’t praise it enough.
Maybe rooms need air con due to this very hot weather.”
