Decent place to stay
Check in was friendly although one of the receptionists didn't speak very clearly which was challenging as my French is passable but far from fluent. The room was a decent size but the toilet/bathroom was small without a door- just a curtain. We intended to go out for an evening meal but as we were about to leave there was a very, very heavy downpour of rain. Reception saw is and offered us the loan of an umbrella which was really nice of them but we decided we didn't want to go out in the rain so we had a snack in the restaurant. The waiter was very friendly, efficient and helpful. We were tied after a long drive so were quite happy to stay in really but a cheerful waiter was really welcome. We went into the city centre the following morning and the hotel is really well situated for the central Square of Montpellier (Place de la Comedie). Finding the hotel when digging into Montpellier was a nightmare though because of road closures and the one way system and this would put me off returning unless traveling by train. Be warned if driving though that you need an emissions certificate from the City authorities which you need to have planned before you start your journey. You can't register online and be covered as you need to allow time for the physical certificate to arrive. If traveling from another country, this could take days off even weeks and you're liable for a €68 fine if you're spotted.

Disappointed… As a member of Accor All, it hotel is and the bottom of them.. and I’ve been in a range of Accor Hotels. My room 209. Did not have any door or screen for the toilet… the smells from the shower drains and just toilet smells lingered in bedroom

There is no door for bathroom, its seperated w a curtain! Bathroom was not very clean, thats a matter under these Covid conditions. Breakfast was good, served in a nice area w garden. Central location.

Excellent service, location and breakfast
We arrived by bike and they had a special place in the garage where we could lock them up. Furthermore, we arrived early but they had a room ready and gave us the key. Also really friendly welcome and, as usual, excellent breakfast. Also brilliant location, quiet but very close to the historic centre of Montpellier

Ibis Montpellier Centre is a good hotel
I had an enjoyable stay, once I got to the correct Ibis hotel. The staff was extremely helpful. The location was convenient. They allowed me to leave my bags for the day so I could do some sightseeing before catching an evening train.

Smallest Ibis room ever !
The smallest Ibis room I ever staied in ... Hardly enough space to sit on the toilets, 2 single-beds instead of 1 large bed... Very disappointed, I'll find another place to stay next time

Good value in the city centre
Overall ok for a night's stay - good location, slightly dated but clean, good air conditioning, quiet. One negative thing to mention is the shower - whoever has designed fo those must have never taken a shower in their life. There's neither a door/curtain nor a curb on the base, which naturally results in a mess on the floor. There's also not much of a door to the bathroom, so don't expect much privacy while you are in there.

More ups than downs.
Hotel staff at reception were excellent and opened the breakfast service early for us to catch our train. Breakfast is great value and the smoked chicken is great as well as the fruit bag. Near the excellent team service two stops from the train station. Massive shopping center next door. Down sides bathrooms too small someone could have a serious accident. TV didn’t really work but that’s not what we went for so didn’t care. Food well cooked for evening meal. Need a little work on the English translation or I need better French.

Nicely located Hotel ... Very cramped rooms
Nicely located from the train station and the city square both within an easy 10 minutes walk.Breakfast was very good with many choices.Modern rejunivation of public areas. Room was very small and the bathroom tiny. No room to move and no room for two suitcases. Pleasant Staff always.Free bicycles made up for the cramped room.

The hotel overall was okay and in a good location just a few minutes walk from the centre of montpellier. The room was big and clean. However we had a room where the shower head was too low to use and it was not adjustable, also the air conditioning wasn't great so the room got hot at night. The service we got the first day from the receptionist wasn't very good as he was quite rude when we checked in, on all other occasions though the other reception staff were kind and helpful.

A relaxed departure from Lyon
Booked this hotel for the night before returning to Canada. Met all our expectations given the reasonable cost. Room was very clean well laid out, and the bed was also comfortable.

Confused staff
Walking distance to centre of town, however dealt with 3 members of staff, all confused. First, the bedrooms have no doors separating the sleeping space from the bathroom. No privacy, absolutely ridiculous design. Asked for a different room, they would not. Secondly, they insisted I pay on arrival, despite me having booked and paid through Expedia. I told them I had already paid. The next morning at check out, left, only to have a staff member chase me down the road telling me I had not paid. I insisted I had but she refused to believe me. In the end I paid as I needed to get a train. Since then I checked my bank statement I've been charged also by Expedia, so I had already paid! Would not stay again.

Nice hotel near the city centre
I have stayed for 5 nights on a business trip. The hotel staff were really nice and tried to help when asked. The only problem with the room was that the bathroom was not separated by the rest of the room.

Rude and Incompetent Staff....
Top marks for room comfort, comfortable bed, and cleanliness. One caveat for the room: showers did not have any doors or curtain, so water flooded out to the walking area by the sink and was very slippery when I exited the shower. Location was good for what I paid, though getting to the city center was easiest going through the mall (Centre Commercial Polygone). Low marks for staff. First, housekeeping are a bit pesky. It's not a place for you to sleep in. The first night, they knocked on my door three times, beginning at 10 am and every hour to ask if they could clean my room. They did it again at 10 am check-out day despite the fact that check-out was "before noon" as I was told. They want you out of there. Next a rude receptionist. My booking was paid for online and the receptionist on check-in confirmed this verbally with me when I checked in and only said that I would owe the 2 euros tourist tax when I check out. A different receptionist checked me out and said I needed to pay in full for the two nights I stayed. I explained to her what the check-in receptionist told me, but this receptionist said no, I was not charged. It took a little bit of arguing, and showing her two receipts: hotels.com paid confirmation and credit card receipt for her to even try and look into their system and get everything sorted out. She was overall rude and reluctant to help sort this out.

Rooms far too warm even with the airconditioning or the window open. Staff attitude - most staff dour & unhelpful. No room at breakfast & not allowed to use empty dining room (like a lot of others). Ordered a round of drinks - either they didn't bother getting them or they took so long the 6 of us went to bed.

We really enjoyed our stay in Montpellier and our stay at the Ibis. Great location, 10 minute walk from the main square (Comedie). The room was great, had HUGE bed, TV, lots of space etc. The only thing is the bathroom! There is no shower curtain or shower door so the water goes EVERYWHERE, every time one of us used the shower, the rest of the bathroom was soaking. So even if you went in to use the toilet, you would be walking around the bedorom then with wet feet. I read another review before I booked mentioning the wet floor in the bathroom but didn't really take much notice. Over all it is a nice hotel, they just need to put doors on their showers! Good job the maid came in every day with new towels, we had to put them on the floor to soak up the water.

Ibis Montpellier centre: no door to the bathroom
New concept rooms in the Ibis Montpellier: bathroom with toilets in the room but without any door. It is always so nice to be able to see your love when you are sitting on the throne... also there is no brush to clean after... The shower has a totally transparent door and the bed is too big for the bedroom therefore the entry door cannot fully open. Basically, this room for one has been transformed in a room for 2 and this is bad. After, the hotel is pretty well situated and clean. So if you ask for a room that is not "new concept" it might be ok. Otherwise: avoid if you are 2!
