The location of this hotel is great. It is on a busy street within walking distance of restaurants, museums, Mount Royal, McGill, etc. Our room was on the 16th floor and faced the busy street, so there was car and motorcycle noise all night. The windows and drapes should be better insulated to keep out the noise. The hotel is very well-run.

Unfortunately there were hidden fees not shared including a fee for booking through Expedia which is terrible for users booking through the site. Wifi didn’t work and property provided no compensation for it. The $20 /day fee they charge is basically for bottled water. Bathrooms were not entirely clean. Only positive is location and walk ability to other areas or access to metro.

My son and I visit Montreal annually, trying a different hotel each time as he enjoys the variety. Regrettably, the Omni-Mont-Royal was the worst-maintained hotel we have encountered in our eight years of exploring Montreal's accommodations. One would expect a hotel charging four-star prices per night to be better than a Quality Inn in terms of room quality, but this was not the case. Now, let's address the HVAC system. Montreal tends to be hot in the summer, and it was particularly so during our visit. The air conditioning unit in our room made an incredibly loud rattling noise that kept us up all night, forcing us to turn it off and endure a room temperature of 28°C. The following day, I informed the front desk. They were very polite and moved us to another room. Unfortunately, the air conditioning unit in the new room was even louder than the first. I reported this to the front desk again, and they assured me that someone would check it. However, when we returned, the noise persisted. Fortunately, the outdoor temperature dropped, making the heat inside more bearable at night. Had it remained hot, we would have had to endure the incessant rattling noise. The room itself appeared to be a relic from 1976 when the hotel opened. There were dents, peeling paint, a broken and peeling mirror, outdated furniture, and old-fashioned carpet. Given the numerous hotel options available at this price point, I recommend choosing a different hotel for a more pleasant stay.
