--gorgeous grounds, charming cottage, amazing views --the place is a bit worn around the edges, but there's enough good stuff here to make it really worthwhile --a hot bath in the bathroom!

Puri Lumbung has a gorgeous location high in the mountains with stunning views and good hikes to waterfalls. The property is beautifully landscaped. It hosted live traditional music during the dinner hour and one excellent dance performance while we were there. The food in he restaurant is very good. The staff are friendly and went out of their way to ensure that we had an enjoyable and comfortable stay.

Restful and rural stay
We had a beautiful view of the valley and sunsets. A waterfall is right next to the room and was loud but soothing. The path to the waterfalls starts from the hotel. It is confusing at first but then becomes clear. The map is pretty bad, especially around the village.

Beautiful mountain views.
We stayed at #23 cottage overlooking the mountains and rice fields. Gardens well maintained. Also got massage done from there 24NZD an hour. No intercom, bed squeaks when moving, dogs barking at night, breakfast was ok. Overall a nice hotel to stay for couple of nights.

As the result the bed is being repaired by our woodsman, the intercom procurement also being discussed intensely. And the dogs barking during the night, we guess that unfamiliar somebody or something left . and arouse their instincts to dispel by barking. We have some dogs, and each villagers generally too, in case to identify "something strange", due to our countryside environment tipycally open, not fenced. Beautiful cottage with amazing scenery
We stayed for 2 nights in cottage 34 which had the most amazing view. The cottage itself was neat and tidy, with daily housekeeping and a restaurant near by with very good food. Found out by random chance that David Bowie stayed here as well! Very helpful arranging transport for us and going to the farmacy. Saw some traditional dancing and cake making, had a massage. Could not have asked for more. Woul definitely recommend, you'll get the real Bali experience here.

Lovely mountain retreat
Positives: The gorgeous, lush, well-maintained property grounds, the breathtaking views, the traditional Balinese cottages set amongst rice terraces, the daily activities offered by the property (we enjoyed a free Balinese dance performance one night!) the delicious restaurant, the convenient location (just outside the village of Munduk with easy access to walking trails that lead to waterfalls, etc.), the ever-smiling, friendly and helpful staff... basically the entire ambiance of the place is wonderful and unique. Negatives: Since you are living close to nature in places constructed with natural materials you may find a few ants or other tiny insects in your room. It didn't bother us at all as all of the other positives FAR outweighed a few ants crawling around. Just an FYI if that type of thing really bothers you. Overall, it was a super beautiful, unique location that we absolutely loved. Highly recommended!!

Our first stay 4 years ago was really special however sadly disappointed this time. Although the country side was as beautiful as ever it was Expensive, and not the 2 bed cottage I booked through Expedia. Instead we got a small 1 bed with an extra bed squeezed in - and reception staff wouldn’t move us and said they would charge for that extra bed. I couldn’t be bothered arguing as we were only staying the one night. Our waiter was untrained and rude. This time Puri Lumbung lacked in professionalism and you didn’t clearly communicate what we had paid for!!

Beautiful option in the Hills
After 8 days in Ubud dodging traffic and noise, the escape to Munduk and the Puri Lumbung Cottages was welcome. Lovely views over rice fields to distant mountains and the sea. Cottage was basic, but comfortable. Downstairs bathroom added to a reconfigured rice storage shed. No a/c, but higher elevation meant cooler temperatures. Staff was helpful. Good hikes and other excursion options.

This is a charming hotel with breathtaking views from the rooms. Our villa (#33) had the best view. The landscaping around the hotel and around every villa is done lovingly and with attention to detail - ponds with lotus flowers and koi fish, little waterfalls, flowery bushes, lush green rice paddies....

It really surprised me. The whole space is a beautiful village of cottages having great mountain view. When you sat on the balcony it's really relax. Staffs were very friendly. Although there was no TV in room, hotel and staffs arranged some activities. Won't feel boring at all.

The staff couldn't find my booking at the beginning so so they had to add the extra bed for us and asked us to leave the key to hotel after we checked in. There must be some animals lived under the same roof of the room. We saw some animal's turd on our bed sheet and floor,and we heard the sound in the evening. Others are OK, but the room we had closed to the Lotus Coffee and it was very noisy in the evening for the dancing show.

Lovely stay in the Munduk hills
We had a lovely three night stay here. The staff were excellent and the hotel has fantastic views, comfortable rooms and nice restaurant. The hotel appears to do a lot in the local community with staff from the area and an excellent evening of Balinese dancing from the local school and young apprentices serving. The hotel has large grounds which are immaculately kept, make sure you spend some time exploring them and the lovely walks that are easily accessible directly from the hotel. A really good stay up in the cool hills!

Beautiful view cottages in lush vegetation
This hotel consists of cottages spread out along a ridge. There are great views of the valley from some of the cottages and from the "Sunset Bar". The rooms are colorful, but can be slightly inconvenient - lots of steps. The water heater in our bathroom was pretty unreliable. Wifi coverage was quite weak in the area of our cabin (#33), but our balcony may have had the best view of all. The restaurant is quite good, which is nice, since the place is pretty isolated.

Like staying in a lush botanical garden!
Balinese wood and stone architectural features, high in the hills and surrounded by rice paddies with views of the tree tops and mountains, quiet restful environment, resort used for spiritual retreats. We stayed there in rainy season so treking was limited. Excellent staff service.

Great place to relax and enjoy nature
The views and atmosphere of the cottage are very relaxing. The trekking around is quite good and far from crowds in South Bali. Amenities of the room are quite basic but of good quality. The place is clean and it was a very pleasant stay overall. As they are a lot of crickets around, it can be noisy during night time and I would recommend to bring earplugs if you are sensitive.

Fantastic stay in Munduk!
The hotel is located right near the start of town, which is very convenient for exploring. The grounds and gardens are absolutely breathtaking, as are the views from many of the rooms. Staff were extremely courteous and helpful, offering suggestions for various tours, cooking classes, and spa services. We ate at the restaurant for each of the 3 days during our visit and enjoyed delicious meals. This hotel serves as a great base for which you can explore and do many waterfall hikes, or relax on your balcony while drinking tea and reading a book. We had a great stay!

Unique accommodation
We stayed in a beautiful cottage with a very traditional feel and look.It was in a very picturesque location with a number of walks around the surrounding area. The climate was cooler and there was no aircon but air moving through the cottages kept it coll. The food was very nice and it was a very enjoyable stay.

Beautiful!
We had a very nice stay at this hotel. We felt like we were in the middle of nature and the view from our cottage was breath taking. The staff were great and we did a few guided excursions that we really enjoyed. The criket sings really loudly in the morning and before sundown. You have to like to be surrounded by nature!

This was an absolutely beautiful resort located in Munduk in the mountains of Bali. They have their own farm right on premise and all of the food you eat is grown on-site. The fruits and vegetables taste amazing! The cottages are beautiful, staff is amazing, My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights and we absolutely loved it. The hot coco is awesome in the morning and I loved the afternoon tea and snack at the sunset bar. The grounds are gorgeous and you can hike to two waterfalls right from your cottage.

Authentic Balinese hideaway
An outstanding place to stay which far exceeded our expectations - friendly staff, great ambience, superb environment & wonderful views. We loved our stay there & would have liked to stay longer! Just ok
We expected something different based on the reviews, but let’s just say that it was ok. The cottage had humidity (the bed was nearly wet), it was dark (think cave) and there was no possibility to move from the hotel, unless you want to see waterfalls (hiking). If you wanted to leave, you either walked to the next village to rent a motorbike or paid a driver several hundred K to drive you around. Don’t get me wrong, the waterfalls were amazing (just make sure to bring money when you hike, our hotel receptionist forgot to mention this!) and the views are spectacular. We won’t be coming back.

Considering that we are set in the nature, which the location surrounded by creeks, rice fields and plantations, and moreover the rainy season, the conditions of room might not suitable, depend on its location setting and diverse surrounding environment. The direct information, complaint and suggestion from our guest is really appreciated, and we will be sprightly to take the necessary action. In the room we put the list of activities that we provide with involve the local villagers such as trekking, cooking, yoga class, and many kind of Balinese class that you can order directly at the reception. For tour and sightseeing there are some place to rent a motorcycles in the village, otherwise we can provide the tour that will be handled by the local people, as our main mission to empowering the local resources by involving them in the activities provided to the guests. très beau séjour
Nous avons passé un très beau moment à Puri Lumbung. Le cadre est magnifique, les équipes sont adorables et de très nombreuses activités sont proposées, il n'y a vraiment pas le temps de s'ennuyer. Le seul regret que nous avons est de ne pas y être resté plus longtemps.

Die Zimmer sehen ganz und gar nicht aus wie auf den Fotos. Die Anlage war vor Jahrzehnten sicher einmal nett angelegt, ist es mittlerweile aber leider gar nicht mehr. Im Restaurantbereich haben wir eine Ratte gesichtet (natürlich ist es ein offen gebautes Gebäude und die Tierwelt daher nicht vollkommen ausgeschlossen - eine Ratte geht aber zu weit). Die Zimmer haben keine Fensterscheiben in den Fenstern! - sie sind vollkommen offen. Absolut nichts schützt einen vor der Tierwelt, obwohl die Hütten mitten in die Natur gebaut und von der Pflanzenwelt umgeben sind. - Es gibt Holzfensterläden mit denen man die Fenster „verschließen“ kann - aber auch diese sind keinesfalls dicht, sondern bieten genug Möglichkeiten für Ungeziefer aller Art ins Zimmer zu gelangen. Der Gipfel ist der riesige Spalt (sicher 20 cm) zwischen Wand und Beginn des Daches. - dh. auch hier gibt es keinen Schutz vor Tieren. - In unserem Zimmer hat uns schon eine Handteller-große Spinne begrüßt. Nachdem diese vom Personal hinausgetragen wurde, haben wir später auch noch selbst eine riesige Heuschrecke hinausgetragen. Am nächsten Morgen konnte ich eine ebenfalls Handteller-große Spinne dabei beobachten, wie sie einfach durch diesen riesigen Spalt in unser Zimmer gekrabbelt ist - Gott sei Dank konnte ich sie wieder hinausscheuchen. Man muss anmerken, dass das Personal durchaus freundlich und im Rahmen des ihnen möglichen sehr bemüht war. Sie trifft an unserer schlechten Erfahrung keine Schuld.

Wir entschuldigen uns herzlich und entschuldigen uns für die Unannehmlichkeiten, die Sie erfahren haben. In der Lage, umgeben von Reisterrassen und Plantagen, ist sie von Mäusen, Insekten und anderen Insekten bestens betroffen. Wie  Die Erwartung, wir haben einige strikte Maßnahmen ergriffen, um all diese Möglichkeiten zu vermeiden, indem wir Bettnetze verwenden, regelmäßig Insektizide sprühen und Nagetiere mit Haftfallen (kein Rodentizid) entfernen. Mittlerweile wenden wir umweltbewusst an, um übermäßige chemische Effekte zu vermeiden, gemäß unserem Konzept als erstes Eco Hotel in Munduk. Darüber hinaus nehmen Form und Stil unseres Gebäudes das ursprüngliche Design an. So erscheinen die Räume auf dem Dach und die Belüftung, die viel und offen erscheinen, sowie eine weit geöffnete Umgebung, um die Sichtstörung zu vermeiden. Infolgedessen konnten wir leider ihre Anwesenheit und Störung nicht gänzlich vermeiden. Wir freuen uns sehr über Ihr wertvolles Feedback und die Durchführung strengerer Erwartungen, um Service, Qualität und Komfort langfristig zu verbessern. Es ist unser Hauptanliegen, einige andere Optionen aus dem, was wir angewendet haben, zu nehmen. Nochmals vielen Dank für Ihre Bewertung, und wir entschuldigen uns für Ihre Unannehmlichkeiten.
