Regarding your comments about cleanliness and the condition of some amenities, we would like to clarify a few things. We take the cleanliness of our resort very seriously and have a dedicated housekeeping team that meticulously cleans and prepares the property for each guest's arrival. We are therefore surprised to hear your feedback regarding the state of the property upon your arrival, especially given our usual high standards of cleanliness. We do want to take this opportunity to address your comments about some amenities appearing worn. While we strive to maintain the charm and character of our log house resort, we understand the importance of keeping everything in the best condition possible. With that in mind, we are planning some additional enhancements, and we do make upgrades each month. Thank you for your review. For your information we continue to make improvements and this year, we have rebuilt the driveway, replaced the hot tub controller, added many games, bicycles, and children's toys, many new Blu-Ray and DVD disks, and replaced some decking. Each month we add something new for guests to enjoy.

Thank you for your review, Nancy. Yes, the house was built in 1987, but it is a full-log home that is very rare and has a lot of charm. Thank you for pointing out that a small spot on the deck needs repair. We are aware of the issue and have a repair of that spot scheduled. The hot tub has been in use by guests for over 10 years by hundreds of guest groups with no concerns. I clean and check the hot tub before each guest group to make sure the chlorine levels are set properly and give instructions to add small amounts of chlorine each day with prepared packets. This keeps the hot tub sanitized properly throughout each guest’s stay. No other group, before or after your stay has expressed concerns about the hot tub, but I’ve received many positive comments. As you well know, I received over 30 emails from you, starting before your arrival and throughout your stay. I answered each and every one of your concerns, from a non-existent wildfire that had been put out 2 months before, such as asking if we have an icemaker (yes), to how to select an HD program on the TV. You asked if you could check in early and I told you that you could check in an hour early. It is interesting that early on in your stay, you emailed me that “We got here safely and it was just beautiful and that you would like to extend your stay two more days into the weekend”. If you were so unhappy, why would you ask to stay two more days? I’m still a little confused about that. While I answered all of your questions promptly and extensively during your stay, I did not hear a single comment about yellow jackets, during your stay. Since you left without telling me about them, I was not able to assist you with some solutions, which were available. We are in a forest area and this has been a bad year for Yellowjackets, and I have done everything I could to minimize their presence, including putting up 20 traps to get rid of them. I wish that you had contacted me before you left so that we could have worked together to find a solution, that worked for you. While you indicated that your dog was panicked over them, we have two dogs that were out and about after you left and had no problems with them. I would like to point out that the email you sent didn’t ask for a refund but instead demanded a refund after you left by your own choice, without giving me a chance to help you enjoy the remainder of your stay. After all, there were no yellowjackets inside, or in other parts of the property. Jim

Hi Evelyn, Sorry that it didn't snow during your stay. The snow times can be a bit unpredictable in our area. We did get our first snowfall, during the week after you left and we have more snow forecast in the next week. As far as playing the 3D disks, I wished you had contacted me during your stay so that I could have assisted you to get the 3D disks to play in 3D mode. I take pride in supplying this very rare 3D home theater system of the highest quality and I do check it out regularly to make sure it is working properly. Since each manufacturer's 3D TV, is different, your home system may operate differently. To operate the high-quality Sharp system at Hummingbird Hill, it may be necessary to push the 3D button on the larger TV remote, to enable 3D viewing. I've left additional instructions for this in the guidebook. After the current guests left I checked the system and found that it was working perfectly showing really awesome depth in the 3D movies.. I do supply over 45 3D Blu-Ray disks and while about 5 have underwater and nature scenes, there are over 40 movies that are a mixture of drama, scary movies, and kids movies. Since the Blu-Ray and DVD section is quite large, the other 3D movies may not have been obvious on the shelf, since there are a lot of disks there. I'm still adding to the rare collection and the new additions include Beauty And The Beast 3D, Star Wars The Last Jedi 3D, Star Wars The Force Awakens 3D. For your information, Large 3D TVs and 3D Blu-ray players are now nearly impossible to get since they have been completely out of production for over 5 years and the 3D Blu-ray disks are rare and hard to find as well. The Sharp System is the highest quality, ever made and it shows 3D movies in stunning clarity. I do take pride in providing and maintaining this very rare 3D theater system for guests to use. For future guests that are interested in all the titles of the 3D Blu-ray movies, on-site, please let me know and I will email you the complete list. Thanks for your review, Christine. While the neighbor's dogs can have some minor bad habits, the dogs are calm and well-behaved. Many guests encourage them to come down from the hill to our property to play with them since they don't have dogs of their own. The dogs will normally leave and go home with a "Go Home!" command. I've l left a note in the information book for future guests. The advantage of not having fences on the 6-acre property is that herds of elk and deer pass right next to the deck and hot tub. They can be a joy to watch and I've seen as many as 50 elk come through, all at once. Quite a sight!
