We have stayed often at HIE, and usually love them, so we were highly disappointed in this stay. First off, when we checked in, the front desk person was on a call and didn't even recognize I was standing there. It did not seem to be a call with another guest, more like a co-worker or friend. After finally getting checked in, our to-go food now cold, we were told the hot tub and pool were all down. Bummer. I was looking forward to a hot soak in the hot tub, since the rooms didn't have tubs. The bed wasn't nearly as comfortable as we have become accustomed to for the Holiday Inn brand, and the noise above us at 5 am left a lot to be desired. the "grab and go" breakfast was the final straw. NO gluten free options....or options at all. A crappy breakfast sandwich, sugar-filled "muffin" in plastic wrap, WATER (not even any juice options), and fruit in a cup. That would be fine, but its not what you pay for at a HIE. And having stayed at others more than once during the pandemic, everyone else has served hot breakfast (with precautions and safely), so it can be done. Just really disappointing to pay full price and then not have access to the amenities we're used to. Will not stay at this particular one again.
