Nice hotel for a certain purpose in that area.

Posted Apr 11, 2017
Pros: Water flow and temperature.
Cons: Smell of the room when you came in the first time. Customer first for the front desk man, or at least make us aware that we have to wait.
Location: Amtrak Creston station, nice park.
We went in to the front desk to check in, outside, we passed 2 guys repairing a car. We waited 15 to 20 minutes, rang the bell maybe 4 times. Then one of the guys repairing the car, tyler, came in and checked us in. He was aware that we were waiting, he could hear the bell but he did not come in until one more person came to check in, we checked in around 4:30pm. My wife called the operator but it was turned off. When we entered the room there is an unusual smell, definitely not pleasant but can be improved, what we did was turn the exhaust fan from the bathroom. Water flow of the shower is good, we do not have to wait for the temperature to be mixed at my desired temperature. Overall, the room is good for the price that we paid for.

Very smokey and old.

Posted Mar 30, 2017
Pros: Location?
Cons: Needs a complete overhaul. Got to get a grip on the smoke smells.
Location: Not sure, was just there to get some sleep.
Not worth the price we paid. Room was very small. Hallways smelled like a big ashtray. My room was "non-smoking" but had an ashtray? Lots of patching and mending of things that need overhauled and replaced. Fitted sheet wouldn't stay on the bed. Towels were mini sized. Had to wash everything when I got home because everything absorbed smoke smell.

If you have to go to Creston IA

Posted Feb 21, 2017 on Hotels
If you have to stay in Creston, IA you don't have many choices. That said, the hotel was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff is not very attentive as we tried to call them around 9PM and couldn't get an answer. Ended up walking up to the lobby and found him in the breakfast area watching TV (or sleeping in front of the TV). Other than that, about what you would expect for the price.

There are two buildings, one old and one new. The newer building was better.

Pros: convenience
Cons: a little too pricey
Our key didn't work when we first tried it and had to go back up to the office. Otherwise it was okay.

Great motel for the price

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They changed my 2nd floor room to accommodate my physical problems and even helped me load my car. It was a comfortable home base for my needs. The breakfast was good especially the waffles.

The bed was extremely hard, I resorted to sleeping in the recliner in the room. Also the bulb over the vanity mirror was out.

Nice, affordable hotel

Friendly staff. I booked a smoking riom, and yes, it did smell like smoke. Which I expected. Nothing a little air fresher couldn't take care of.
