The hotel is marketed as 5-star, but both facilities and service fell short of that standard. The property felt dated, and communication was inconsistent, with messages through the Expedia app (including a request for transport) going unanswered. Its location is also less practical, with limited walkable cafés, shops, or convenience stores.
On arrival at 8:15 pm, the only restaurant was closing at 8:30, leaving no dining options. Dinner service ends unusually early for a resort catering to international travelers. While the pool and sea view were excellent, the pool closed at 8 pm, and the fitness room offered only two treadmills and free weights.
Guest rooms raised concerns. Door locks felt minimal, and a staff member entered with little notice to carry out repairs. Other issues included a leaking sink (repaired after reporting) and a crooked wall-mounted TV. Charges applied for basics such as ice and extra water, which could be handled more easily with vending machines.
Policies also reduced the experience. A 3,000 THB cash deposit (or surrendering a passport) was required at check-in, more typical of budget hotels. At breakfast, payment was requested mid-buffet line before eating. I checked out early but was still charged in full. Staff said the no-refund policy came from Expedia, while Expedia later stated it was the hotel’s policy.
Overall, the stay did not reflect 5-star standards, and travelers may wish to compare other options.
