"Memmo Alfama is truly a hidden gem. The terrace/restaurant had a million dollar view overlooking Alfama, paired with amazing food and drinks. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and had what we needed. The location was perfect for our stay, so close to so many major landmarks and allowed us to walk to pretty much anywhere we needed to go. The room was so clean, we got the partial ocean view balcony and it was truly magical. I cannot say enough for much we love this...

"Located in the Baixa, centrally located, so easy to get anyplace in the city, either walking, metro or Uber. We had dinner there with a Fado show one evening and it was surprising good, usually not a fan of hotel food but this was worth it and good, and the Fado singer was excellent!"

"The sheer atmosphere of the Parador is truly amazing: the corridors filled with furniture, the vaulted central crossing, the grand staircase. It feels as if you’ve gone through a portal to the past. The breakfast offerings are extensive. We had lunch at Dos Reis, which in an equally remarkable setting with the barrel vaulted ceiling. It was a very big nice meal. The Parador is in the most ideal location. To walk out the door into the main square is magical. "

Slighly penny pinching attitude... complimentary water provided only for 1st night... I would have thought that savings on linen cleaning for our 5 night stay would have meant that water could be provided daily? Free transfer to/ from airport (I understand for 3 night + stays) was excellent... "

"The Pestana Vintage Porto Hotel is AWESOME! It is right in the hub of action on the waterfront with a cool area out front to have drinks and snacks and enjoy people watching. The shops around, including a little grocery a few store fronts away, are interesting and great prices considering that you are in the middle of the action. "This is such a wonderful hotel, right in the centre of old town, close to everything lovely in Porto. Our room was on the top floor overlooking the square and had a great view of the river and the opposite side of town. The bed was so comfortable.
