Because it is fairly close to the Quito airport, we stayed three separate times on a recent trip. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They even welcomed us with umbrellas when it was raining! We arrived very late (after 10:30pm) and left early (4:30am) twice, and this was fine with the staff. Washington, the wonderful taxi driver used by this hotel, was always on time and very helpful.
The hotel is a 300 year old converted hacienda with lovely spacious grounds and quaint, unique and clean rooms. The beds are comfortable but not large. The one breakfast that fit with our travel schedule was delicious and filling.
In a nutshell, this is a great place to stay if you would like to get a taste of Ecuadorian life and an introduction to the village culture of Ecuador. We really enjoyed it because we liked its warm, homey feeling. On the other hand, if you prefer standard hotels with lobbies, cookie cutter decor, and glossy tiled bathtubs just down the street from bustling restaurants and nightlife, this hotel is not for you.
