"Good Hotel with decent staff. Nothing over the top"
Went with 10 family members. When we arrived we had to wait 1 hour just to get checked in. With kids and parents, after a long journey, it was very long as we really wanted to go to our room and change/unwind. Staff was not the nicest either. Nothing extremely mean but wished they were more friendly. Food was OK. The buffet at breakfast was defiantly the best our of all meals. The wait times and dress code were hard to comply with for us. There was a gap between an hour around 5PM where it was hard to eat. With kids - made it a little difficult. Pools were good. Service at pools were excellent. Beach was decent. Calm enough to swim. They advertise kayaks and snorkels but both were below par. Snorkels were limited - only 3 to rent for the whole resort. Snorkeling around there was not worth it. They had kayaks but never rented out claiming weather but in my eyes the weather was calm and great every day. All in all this was a good place. Most of the comments above were nit-picky.

"Nice resort but the beds..."
I had a great time at the resort, spent most of my time ar the beach side salt water pool. A handful of the restaurants were less than good, the tapa and Italian restaurants were awful. The Brazilian restaurant was amazing as well as mexican and sea side. Staff was very helpful. The rooms were nice but the beds were the worst.

"Nice hotel with great pool"
This hotel was very nice, with decent-sized rooms and a very nice pool area. The beach was also very good, although the water wasn't all that clear (typical for this area of Riviera Maya). The restaurants were good and there are quite a few of them. The only downside was that at least one restaurant (sometimes more) were consumed every evening for weddings or other private parties, which seemed to be booked every day. The Spa seemed very nice, although we are not spa regulars. Also, avoid the "invitation" to visit the sister resort down the road - it is actually a 3-hour high-pressure sales pitch for their Vacation Club.

"Exceptional Stay"
8 days, 7 nights in June. The Royal Suites upgrade was well worth it. Stayed in the Riviera section of this resort 5 years ago and would have given it a 4.5 star rating then. Was dubious that the Royal could be much better. But it did not disappoint! I would recommend either of the options.

"Amazing all-inclusive. "
First time to ElDorado Seaside and it was amazing. Infinity pool suite in the new building was incredible. Staff went out of their way to help and the make the stay so great. Only negative was the construction still being done on part of the building but that will be done soon. Great restaurants to choose from. We only had to wait for a table one time in the whole week. Spent the days relaxing in a cabana and in the pool. Highly recommend.

"Nice Hotel, beach not so much"
The Hotel itself is nice , the food is good, but the beach and the ocean water is not what you would expect from the Riviera Maya. The water is dirty with lots of algae and does not have a nice color

If you are traveling with your family, you can get all the childcare you need so that you can take some time off. Many all-inclusive Riviera Maya resorts offer babysitters and have a wealth of fun stuff for children to do right in the resort, including free bicycles, surf and boogie boards, tennis, and volleyball. The Best Time to Visit

If you have some flexibility in timing your vacation through Expedia.com to one of the all-inclusive Riviera Maya resorts, you may want to visit in the dry season. The best weather is between late November and April. However, as with any vacation destination, the rates at Riviera Maya, Mexico, resorts are typically higher during the peak season. July through August and December through January are the most popular seasons. The rest of the year is considered the off-season and boasts smaller crowds, except for Easter vacation when locals and visitors rush to the beach.

    Historical and Cultural Attractions

The Riviera Maya is also home to some of the most fascinating natural and historical landmarks in Mexico. Two of the top Mayan ruins are the port at Tulum and Chichen Itza. The centerpiece at Chichen Itza is the Kukulkan pyramid as well as walking trails through a complex of Mayan ruins and temples. The famous Cenote Sagrado is also nearby. In Tulum, the ruins are on top of an outcropping that overlooks the sea, providing spectacular views, especially in the early morning.

    Resort Amenities

At the best resorts in Riviera Maya, you can expect excellent amenities, including free Wi-Fi, refrigerators, and bottled water. All hotels offer at least one swimming pool, beach access with umbrellas, and lounge chairs. A Riviera Maya spa will offer full spa treatments, including in-room massages and relaxing rubdowns on the beach after a long day of surfing. Most resorts also offer easy access to golf courses, water sports such as windsurfing, water skiing lessons, skydiving, and eco-tours. Resorts typically house at least one, and sometimes several, excellent on-site restaurants to please even the most discerning palate. Some even have nightclubs and discos. Your suite is like a home away from home with slippers, bathrobes, and DVD players.

    The Mysteries of the Yucatan

The Riviera Maya is in one of the most fascinating natural environments in the world, home to breathtaking cenotes and caves. These natural wonders are created by an underground river that runs the length of the peninsula. The Rio Secreto has seemingly endless rooms and passageways full of stalactites and stalagmites that have transformed it into a magical underground world. The area also offers some of the best scuba diving in the Caribbean with the Cenote Dos Ojos in Playa Del Carmen where certified divers can explore miles of underground rivers and discover hidden caverns. Other sites include statues hidden only to people standing on the shore. Divers can see the monumental underwater museum created by Jamie Gonzales Cano. It contains more than 500 permanent, life-size sculptures of people, which are fast becoming home to the local marine life. If diving’s not your thing, you’re in luck. There is one exhibition that is only for snorkelers.

If a Caribbean vacation is on your wish list, look for resort deals and cheap flights to Riviera Maya. Along with the beautiful, silky beaches and crystal-clear water, you'll experience some of the most fascinating historical and natural wonders in the Caribbean.
