Total Relaxation
What a lovely quiet place to stay & relax with many forest walks close by. Within walking distance of the beautiful St Martin de Boscherville Abbey & village that has a small Boulangerie, Boucherie & a restaurant which serves food at lunch times only. Fresh vegetables are available from the local farm market just 200m away from the property. Thank you Elizabeth & Jean Christian for being wonderful hosts.

Cosy gîte with a warm welcome in a beautiful location
La Petite Maison was the perfect place to stay to progress my French learning. We loved it and our hosts were very kind, welcoming and helpful. Beautiful gardens and surrounding countryside. Local shops in the village (which is within easy walking distance), include a boulangerie/pâtisserie, boucherie, farm fresh vegetables and a pharmacy. Also in the village is the 'Belle de Mai' restaurant and cafe situated opposite the Abbaye St Georges which is illuminated at night. Rouen city on the River Seine is easy to reach by the 530 bus. It has shops, restaurants, tearooms, history and a magnificent cathedral. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Petite Maison and totally recommend it!

Le Petite Maison C'est Terrifique
We enjoyed the month of September in the gite. It was a great place to come back to after spending time in different cities. We had everything we needed and particularly loved the patio seating area and beautiful gardens. The best thing by far were our hosts, Elisabeth and Jean Christian, who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and were the kindest of people.

Quick stop but saw a lot!
Very close to Rouen, bus stop at the top of the road. Owners were friendly and knowledgeable. Spoke great English which was very helpful! Accommodation is quaint, has everything one can ask for.

A little slice of heaven
We both loved the gite. The location privately tucked away in the corner of the owners walled garden was lovely . Surrounded by flowers and beautiful trees really took our breath away when we arrived. The gite had every thing we required and more and the kitchen was fully kitted out. The hosts were absolutely wonderful and kinda made the holiday even better. We shall return thank you.

Excellent hosts and great property, stairs may be an issue if you have mobility problems but this is an exceptional holiday with the most perfect hosts who make the stay and very professional in what they do. Elisabeth and Jean are so warming and lovely people who made us feel like family. Bus to Rouen is also free on a Saturday. This has been a most enjoyable stay and visit. Thank you so much for this.

Nice host, but not the best stay
The road right behind is quite noisy with motorcycles racing around and big trucks/tractors at all hours The internet failed completely after a few days, although not the fault of the owner due to weather they had gone away so I couldn’t work and we had to leave. The cleanliness was not very good unfortunately, kitchen was not clean, food splattered, unclean microwave, broken glass on the floor! Dangerous if you have a dog (which we do) or little children! We did take pictures.

Lovely Stay...
I recently stayed in the very lovely little house in Saint Martin de Boscherville. What a great experience. Elisabeth and Jean Christian were excellent hosts…very attentive and available should I have questions or need anything. The house is super cozy with lots of room to spread out. I appreciated the well equipped kitchen. There is a virtual library of books and brochures related to many different subjects in the area. I had a dedicated parking spot under an abri, easy in and out of the secure property with a remote to the electric gate and firewood to have a warming and romantic fire in the evening ( I was there in February). Check in and out was simple with great communication. I had some much needed peaceful sleep while there. All and all it was an unforgettable experience. The little village is within easy walking village. I loved taking the car ferry ( so efficient!) at La Bouille. I would add that the area is not what I expected…it is just glorious…like a secret world that most people don’t know about. The forests are stunning and feature all kinds of trails for walking. I loved driving down side roads through green pastures ending up at the mighty Seine. I really enjoyed exploring the whole area and beyond. I used the location as a base to travel out to Etretat and Honfleur or Camembert and Pont L'Eveque. It was so nice to come back to the little house at night and make dinner and enjoy the fire. There is so much I still need to see and hope to return some springtime. It must be amazing at that time of year as well….I need to see the Lin flowers in bloom en masse ! Thank you Elisabeth and Jean Christian for your wonderful hospitality.

Normandy les boucles de la Seine. Lots of places to see and to walk. Ferries (bcac) are gratuit,.
Lovely, warm, everything you'd need for a fortnight in France. Hot water, good shower, washer, well located for boucherie, boulangerie, cafe/resto and supermarkets 5 minutes away in the car. Elizabeth and Jean Christian are charming and welcoming, the former speaking perfect English. Loved the place and we were shown photos of the gite as it was when they took it over - a wreck transformed.

Beautiful village
Lovely little property in beautiful surroundings and in easy walking distance of village centre where there is butchers, Boulangerie and a market area selling local produce along with the Abbey. It was extremely easy to take the 531 bus to Rouen and would highly recommend rather than driving. This was not a problem for us but if you have mobility problems you may find the stairs difficult. The Hosts were away but we were met by there lovely French friends who were very helpful and informative.

Peaceful cottage in haut Normandy
We enjoyed every minute of our week in this one bedroom cottage in a small village in Normandy. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The cottage is charming and comfortable and equipped with a kitchen that is enjoyable to cook in. There is a lovely private outdoor area in the garden. Many historic and cultural sites locally and within an hours drive. Highly recommend!

Short stay on winter trip
Warm welcome from Elisabeth to this lovely quiet gite in lovely surroundings. Appreciate the welcome gift. Gite had everything we needed. Visitors should be aware of the low beams and steep, narrow staircase. It is very easy to not see the bottom three steps as they tend to blend in. Would fully recommend this property.

Nous avons séjourné une petite semaine dans "La petite maison" et nous avons passé un excellent moment. Les hôtes sont disponibles, à l'écoutes et accueillants. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter et recommandons fortement ce petit coin de détente où la nature et le jardin donne un vrai bol d'air.

Nous avons passé un séjour parfait dans ce gîte! L'accueil chaleureux et attentionné a été le prélude à une bonne expérience. Normandie at it's best
The small cottage in the Seine-valley was a perfect start for our tour de Normandie. Not far away from Rouen, with a wonderful landscape to walk and a marvellous abbey nearby, we enjoyed the charming house and garden and the friendly hosts.

Très bel endroit, très bien situé pour les excursions que nous souhaitions faire, conçu pour un repos idéal après excursions, belle décoration avec grand souci du détail, prévue pour un repos en extérieur, avec sièges confortables, salon de jardin, hamac, environnement ombragé et très bien fleuri, accueil chaleureux des propriétaires et conseils précieux invitant à mieux connaître la région et le village.

"La p'tite maison" qui en a que le nom 🥰
Réactivité par message très rapide. Hôtes très arrangeants. Accueil au top par Jean-Christian, il ns a fait la visite et nous a tt bien expliqué le fonctionnement de la maison. Il ns a été de bons conseils pr les visites alentours, il y a d'ailleurs bcp de documentations touristiques et de beaux livres sur la région. Il ne manque rien ds cette petite maison. La cuisine est très fonctionnelle avec tt ce qu'il faut pr cuisiner. Un petit cadeau de bienvenue ns attendait au frigo, merci Elisabeth pr ce petit geste qui fait tjs très plaisir. Très confortable, agréable à vivre, spacieuse, petite terrasse devant la maison ds un magnifique jardin très bien entretenu (sans parler de la magnifique maison de nos hôtes) qui d-e agréable aux beaux jours. Une petite flambée le soir ds la gde chemin fût bien agréable en ce début de printemps un peu humide. Un w-e est trop cours pr visiter le coin et profiter de la petite maison mais ns y reviendrons avec gd PLAISIR pr continuer ces découvertes et échanger avec nos hôtes qui aiment partager et échanger avec leurs "locataires". Adresse à garder précieusement. Encore MERCI pr tt. Ne changez rien vs êtes supers ts les 2. Au plaisir de vs revoir. Amicalement. Un séjour en campagne normande
Nous remercions bien chaleureusement nos deux hôtes pour leur accueil et leurs conseils. Nous avons pu profiter des beautés des lieux et des randonnées. L'abbaye du village avec son parc sont incontournables. Le logement est une rénovation réussie. Notre péché mignon aura été un feu de cheminée avec le froid de notre séjour. Encore merci. Une petite bouffée d'oxygène
Une "petite maison" où on se sent tout de suite très bien. Elle n'est d'ailleurs pas si petite, et très bien agencée : quelqu'un peut dormir à l'étage pendant que l'autre vaque à ses occupations en bas ! Le feu de cheminée dans ces premiers froids hivernaux est très réconfortant. La gentillesse des hôtes est sans égal : ils respirent la bienveillance, et c'est très précieux. Nous espérons pouvoir revenir pour un séjour un peu plus long !
