I don’t expect everyone to be bubbly and chipper, but a smile from any of the staff would have been nice.

Nice hotel close to the 3 Festspielehauses

Posted Aug 24, 2017
Pros: From the facility that is across from the main hotel, you can walk through the tunnel and directly into the 3 music venues without going outside.
Cons: Install air-conditioning; add a refrigerator, more hangers, an electric pot to heat water, and a better means of keeping shower water off the floor.
Location: The hotel is beyond the two tunnels that go under the Monschberg Mountain, and it's an easy walk through either tunnel to the "old town" to shop, eat.
They have two locations across the street from each other, I liked the room, the bathroom, the safe; asked for more hangers--they didn't have any; there's no mini-frig, no air-conditioning; the shower set-up is guaranteed to get water on the floor. Lots of TV channels to choose from, about 6 in English, also an all-music station with some opera and other classical music. Free Wi-Fi; I was there for 13 nights, the cleaning staff was very accommodating although not English-speaking, and the reception was friendly, competent, English-speaking.

Very Poor Hotel

Posted Aug 22, 2017 on Hotels
We booked 2 rooms for 5 adults for 3 nights. Rooms given were across the main road from front office. Rooms were so bare that besides 2 dirty looking glasses, there were no other facilities. No air conditioning and only provided fans. Balcony was mouldy and dirty( see photo). After we left hotel, we discovered we were overcharged on local tax, 18 person-nights instead of 15 person-nights. Don't know how this hotel can be rated 4 Stars. Only 4-Star was the price we paid. Absolutely not to be recommended to anybody. Great disappointment.

The building you check in is renovated but the second tower is in desperate need of help. make sure your room is in the main building.

Very nice stay. Friendly staff. No complaints. A problem with additional bed was solved very quickly.

A clean hotel with a nice location for tourists

Posted Mar 23, 2017 on Hotels
The hotel is located west of the tunnel, very close to all the major attractions. Our room is actually in a building on the opposite side of the hotel office. There is a grocery store about 200 meters west of the hotel. If you want to climb to the top of the hill, take the street east of the hotel and go about a 100 meters north and you will find a path to the top of the hill near a building. You will have a very nice view of the city. You can also go to the castle from there.

Beautiful views from a clean room within 10min walk of the old town quarter made this property a tremendous value.
