Loved the Peacock House
I stayed the weekend with my son, my mom, my boyfriend, and his mom at the peacock house for my first trip ever to San Antonio. We loved the house, we had plenty of space and were very comfortable. We were only a short drive from everything we wanted to do and see. We loved seeing all the peacocks. I had looked at many, many different houses for this trip on both this site and others, but I am so very happy I picked this one.

Peacock fun!
The property was very beautiful! Every room was peacock themed. The house had everything we needed. The best part was seeing the peacocks roam freely in the front and back yard!

Great family place!
Our stay was great! It was well priced, clean, plenty of space and in a good location. Our kids LOVED watching the peacocks! (We didn’t find them to be noisy 😉.) We went to Seaworld and the riverwalk and each drive took us around 15-20 min., which was a huge plus for us. Thanks for a great stay!

A lot of problems with this house
First, the house was not very clean. The water pressure in the master was so low we couldn't use that room at all. The other shower was great but water pumped out of the wall when in use (you could tell by looking at the wall that this has been happening for a very long time) We had to use bath towels to soak up the water but there were no cleaning supplies to wash the towels! With the exception of dish soap and a can of disinfectant there were no cleaning supplies AT ALL. Monica (knowing it was just my husband and I) said I should have requested cleaning supplies because they are dangerous to children. The toaster oven didn't work, the handle fell off the skillet while cooking bacon, there were no dish towels, dish rags or sponges. There was a key broken off in the little bunk house out back so it was also unusable. The springs were shot in the couch, I could go on and on. Monica swung by with a few items for us but did not offer to adjust the bill in any way. Very disappointing.

In 8 years of service my crew has never received a complaint about their cleaning. My crew receives bonus for their great job, so they know how important cleaning is. However, this guest complained so much about everything that I have to go personally to check all the issues and found no dirty floors or house as she said. Yet, there were 4 people instead of the two paid guests. While our 1950 home may need several updates, cleaning has never been an issue. Despite this, this guest received immediate attention to her issues, a $100 refund and $100 coupon. That still wasn’t enough. She even complained about our Airbnb suggested check-out instructions (No threats)! And also demanding so much from the already so low rates we have been offering. For a complainer, no one will ever do enough.

Very comfortable and centrally located
First off, Monica, the host, was always avail for questions. House is super convenient, 3 bds, 2 baths, great kitchen, living, etc. You can park inside the 1 car garage. Neighborhood is quiet and best part? You get to be surrounded by gorgeus peacocks. They are all over the street, and they love dog food. The house was so clean, I forgot my flip flops and walked around with white socks and they were spotless. Great home. Great location and great host. Will definitely be back! 15 mins from La Cantera and the Rim. Shop away!

The Peacock House
The house was very clean and in a great location. It was easy to get to Sea World (6 miles), restaurants, and grocery stores. I was able to bring my dog which was a huge plus. Monica was very friendly and available to answer any questions we had. The only thing I would say is this is the peacock house, so there are peacocks and they are vocal so be prepared. The peacocks were beautiful and non-aggressive. I would stay again if I was in the area.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We didn’t like to comment on the poop you left on our bathroom to avoid bad reviews. It really has taken eight hours of several bleach treatments to get rid of the smell, and still working. However, this week San Antonio had the worse heat record of the year. We are responding quickly to all our units to be sure our guests are comfortable. We never hear from you, so we assumed you were fine. We will check this unite immediately.

Welcoming & Easy Access
This was our family’s first trip since my spouse’s stroke. The fact that the property was handicapped & wheelchair accessible made our vacation stress-free. My granddaughters loved watching peacocks on the property. I’m definitely keeping this property in mind on future visits to San Antonio.

Great stay at Peacock House
My husband and I stayed at Peacock House for the month of February. It was a great location for us to enjoy San Antonio. The house is very comfortable with lots of room. The kitchen is well stocked with all you need to prepare meals. The garage is a plus. The keyless access made it easy for us to come and go each day. Monica was very responsive to questions. The peacocks visited daily and we enjoyed watching them in the back yard. We would definitely stay at Peacock House again if we had an extended stay in San Antonio.

Great stay for the weekend
This was my first time staying at a Vrbo home and I’ll definitely be doing another after this experience. I stayed here for an event over the weekend. It was an adorable home with tons of space for guests and a lovely backyard great for spending the morning reading. Communication was fantastic, and super helpful! I was a little sad I didn’t get to see more of the peacocks, but it is wildlife so it’ll come and go as it pleases. Overall it was a great stay that felt like a great little corner away from home.

Beautiful house!
Loved our stay at the peacock house! Accidentally set off the alarm when arriving but it was my mistake for not reading that you have to let them know before you arrive so they can disable the alarm. Loved the peacocks!! They were loud but we rarely heard them, and only heard them during the day. The house was perfect for the 4 of us. Everyone had their own bed, and the kitchen was very nice with lots of space for groceries. Definitely would stay here again!

My family & I loved it. We wish we could have stayed longer. I’d def stay again. The peacocks were not a bother for us. The made noises but it wasn’t unbearable. They had everything you could need from toiletries to seasonings. I think they had a LOT of flies so keep the doors closed.

Peacocks are beautiful but.....
First off the host did everything to try to make our stay pleasant. The home was well stocked with just about everything you need! Location was very nice. 5 mins to Walmart and shopping center plus a fantastic italian restaurant! 15 minutes to the Alamo and riverwalk. Now the peacocks. At first they were really cool! Even hand fed one. Very beautiful and they are all over! But the novelty quickly wears off when you have to listen to them squawking all day and even at night! Needless to say none of us slept well Plus there is poop everywhere! It's not my idea of fun having to clean poop off my shoes from just walking from my car to the house! It would be nice if the peacocks showed up for a while each day and then went somewhere else like normal wildlife does but no these peacocks live there are you are only their guests! Sad because I like the location and would stay there again if the situation was different! Overall inside cleanliness was acceptable but Not spotless!

I’m sorry you experience wasn’t as you expected. The Peacocks are the main attractions for most people and their presence in the neighborhood is in our descriptions. We don’t suggest to our guests to feed the Peacocks because they would not leave the are. You may have experienced an unusual number of Peacocks due to the matting season. We welcome you to book the Peahen House (Less peacocks) for your next trip. Thank you for staying with us and thank you for taking the time to help us improve. Peacocks Galore!
This place is all about the peacocks! Upon arriving in the evening, we could hear the peacocks nestled up in the trees of the front yard, what a surprise we had the next morning when they were in the yard (both front and back)! Decor and cleanliness was top notch. Bathrooms are updated and well equipped with products and towels. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Communication with the owner was excellent. I would recommend this place for your San Antonio stay.

We loved it!
I had a small gathering for my grandmother's 90th birthday. And we had a wonderful time! The check-in process was great. And the response time from Monica (property manager) was always immediate. I was concerned the peacocks would be aggressive or too noisy, however the peacocks on the property were not. And everyone loved them! They were a nice form of entertainment. I would definitely rent this property again. Thank you!

Definitely a Peacock House!
The interior was beautifully decorated with peacock decor! We did see some peacocks in the front yard and on the roof! My 8 year old nephew's highlight of the trip was collecting peacocks' feathers all over the yard! ;) The house was nice and clean. I gave four stars because the grass was pretty tall and it needed to be mowed. The owner was great at communicating and brought us an item we needed so we don't need to pack it! Thank you! :)

Peacock paradise!

Peacock House & BMT Graduation Weekend
Having a house rather than a hotel room as a base to work from for our son's 4 day BMT graduation was perfect. His 2 days of town pass liberty was better spent in family gathering time than traipsing around the city. The facility was perfect for our needs. We loved watching and listening to the birds. 20 minute drive on the loop to the AF base is an easy commute, but word of advice to parents - allow yourself an hour to get there on time because of the traffic stack up at the gate. I would book this property again.

Nice features - the rooms are comfy and the house is well insulated. It's also large and spread out enough that we were not on top of each other. The kitchen is well-stocked and there is a TV in every room!

Perfect for our family vacation
My husband has mobility problems and this house was extremely well equipped to meet his needs. In addition, it is actually more spacious than it appears in the photos so there was lots of room for everyone to congregate or to have alone time. It is close to everything we wanted to see and do. The peacocks added to what was a great family vacation and made it even more memorable. The owner was wonderful and very responsive to every one of our requests. I highly recommend this property.

Great house, Noisy Peacocks
We enjoyed our stay at the Peacock house. It was very well equipped and comfortable, clean and centrally located near shopping and restaurants. Our only complaint was associated with reason I chose this rental, the peacocks. The noisy peacocks squawked during the night and in the early morning. We counted 18 peacocks in the backyard. They are magnificent birds. Our grandchildren loved seeing them. In the morning there were seven of them with their fans out. Apparently mating season is in the spring and we think that’s why they was squawking during the night right outside the bedroom windows which were single pane. We had a good laugh and it is a stay we will always remember but were glad we only stayed two nights because of the noise.

What a nice place. The inside is so welcoming. The kitchen and bathrooms are amazing. The whole house is decorated beautifully. Tons of room in the house. But the main attraction is the peacocks. They were quite entertaining. But watch where you step. I/we would to stay there again.

Would not hesitate to book again.
Homey, lived-in property with a welcoming aged woods scent. Peaceful neighborhood, comfortable beds. Plenty of quality linens available. The peacocks (lots of them) are a lovely plus. Just don't park under their tree in the front yard overnight. Well equipped kitchen (bring your own trash bags) and laundry room. Excellent management service.
