This is our second stay at the Hotel Zephyr. It’s a fun and funky hotel in the heart of Fishermans’s Wharf. S’mores by the fire in the evening is a great treat.

We enjoyed that it was close to the pier. We were pleasantly surprised with the fire pits and games like pool, shuffleboard and chess. It was a great place to stay.

The property is old. Needs some upgrading. The hallways and door frames are damaged. The staff are quick to ask for tips. Front desk not overly helpful. The rooms were decent for cleanliness. I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it for the money. Location is great it’s a block from Fisherman’s Wharf.

Everything about this hotel, the location, and the amenities were great. Only thing that was not so good there was the concierge service. I wanted to inquire about Alcatraz related tours, but before I could even finish my sentence the concierge told me that the Alcatraz in-person tour had been sold out for months and she shoo-ed me away with her hands.Very curt and very unkind. I'm not a local, I don't know what all the tours are available and what I was actually interested in was the escape the Rock boat tour, which I purchased myself later. The concierge person ignored me for the rest of the time that I stood around and was extremely friendly to other families that were there. I don't know what I did to come off that way but it was as if she did not want to even look at me.

Nice hotel! Bathroom's are a bit dated but overall, hotel and all the rooms were updated and modern. The courtyard is cool with 3 fire pits and lots of activities for all ages. The food camper in the courtyard is not open everyday and the food was not that great. The hotel is in a fabulous location right at the Wharf and walking distance to Pier 39 and Alcatraz landing for tours. So much to see and do! Easy access to bus/streetcar as well as various other restaurants. Car rental just half a block down. Lots to see and do around the hotel!

I loved the location of this hotel!! Every tour we had booked was just right around the corner. The games that were on site were a bonus and making s’mores was a lot of fun. The room was neat and tidy and a great size. I wished it had secure wifi and a small breakfast included in the cost. I would stay there again.
