We really loved having access to the private patio that was adjacent to our room. Water pressure in the shower could have been a bit higher. Otherwise, a very nice stay!!

It’s a double bed, not queen. Old place…..but it was clean and comfy. A breakfast of sorts is complementary in room. Nice retro fridge and micro. BBQ and picnic area are nice.

Desert Air completely lived up to our expectations for a classic, vintage motel -- just the thing for a road trip. The owner was helpful, friendly, and obviously investing himself and financial resources into continued improvements and maintenance. A business like this is a great asset to a town like Sanderson, and we were glad we patronized it. But take note: the only real restaurant in town, which we were looking forward to, is closed on Monday nights. If that's when you are going through, plan ahead, or plan on getting tacos at the gas station.

We were the only guests in the only mote/hotel in a small dying village. We arrived on a Sunday. There was no place to get dinner than the gas station. The owner of the Motel has great plans for his place but he is just starting. Kudos to him. Best of luck. If he succeeded it will be a great stopover but the town is dead.

Brigit, Thank you for your review, yes the town is a remote location within beautiful Chihuahua desert in West Texas. It is located approximately one hour from Big Bend National Park. We are the only motel in Sanderson TX. Please visit us again to enjoy all the additional amenities we are currently working on.

Reminded me of the Route 66 motels. Very nice and renovated. I especially liked the big screen tv and the retro fridge and microwave.

We were very pleased, absolutely loved the unique retro style, the 1950’s look of the fridge & microwave. It was clean, comfy beds, and pillows. There’s no coffee pot, but Stripes (gas station) is across the road, and they have coffee. Better yet, run over to the Ferguson Cafe with antique decor. The hotel is so peaceful. Matthew the owner is superb! Very accommodating, and friendly. Will definitely stay there again! Fair price as well.

Stayed overnight after a day in Big Bend, preferring a small independent motel to the chains of Fort Stockton. Sanderson has a great spot to grab coffee, bites, groceries and souvenirs (Ferguson Motors) and a gas station over the road. The accommodation is simple, but affordable, clean and comfortable.

Cute little place
Cute room, very comfy bed. Shower is a little small maybe ask for a room with a tub so you have more room. No in room coffee but it’s close enough to the convenience store to walk.

Super retro feel. Adorable and affordable. Stayed here on our way to Big Bend. They were very helpful with my VERY late check in as this was a spur of the moment trip and we had to travel 8hrs after work. Loved the down home feel, owners are sweet as pie and very helpful with any questions. Tiny tiny town so very limited on food options but they pointed us to Ferguson Motors a little local coffee shop that also serves some breakfast options. Get there early as it's first come first serve for food. Overall had a wonderful time here and enjoyed a piping hot shower after a full day of hiking in big bend! Be aware, big bend is about 2 hrs from here but it's one of the only places to stay *near* the park last minute.

Moth infested.
The hotel is infested with moths! There are moths in the room and moths swarming outside. Flying moths are harmless, but their larvae deliver painful bites. The entire hotel needs to be treated for this infestation. Otherwise this would be an OK cheap motel. There is no breakfast.

Step back in time
Fun little restored highway motel! There's not much going on in Sanderson but the motel has a nice retro vibe and we enjoyed our overnight visit. The owner/operator certainly has earned respect for saving and renovating this little highway gem.

This was the only show in town, but it was great. The staff were great, the place was so cute. It was clean & appeared to be relatively newly renovated, but kept its retro feel. Would definitely recommend & stay here again.

Not alot of choices to stay in the area.. one suggestion would be to have a coffee maker in the room or at least coffee in the office with some pastries.. had to go across street to get coffee and a honeybun to have with my morning meds. Other than that i would call it an up scale motel 6.
