I usually try to find the positive in all hotels and vacations destinations I go on. But this time I cannot. From the moment we checked into the vacation apartment to the day we left the experience was far from pleasant. The unit was large but everything in it is dated. For the first 5 days of my vacation stay (the 5 days I stayed at Coral Reef Beach Aruba) I had lower back pain and pain under one of my shoulder blade. This all happened due to the hardness and lack of support of the mattress. My travelling partner and friend Lisa, also experienced back pain. The outside bathroom, which was very close to the apartment, stunk. The host, his wife and the housekeeper didn't wear a mask at anytime. We had to inform the housekeeper, whom worked very hard and was nice, that she needed to put on her mask when she entered our unit. We had a few complaints like the water didn't run out freely in the shower, the water was cold, the linens dirty, towels hard and old, the grounds/property is dirty and unkept. Whenever we asked for services or items, which should be there anyway, the response was never helpful or there was an air of condescension. Additionally, the restaurant next door is noisy way into the night. Truth: this place has such potential to be beautiful oasis. The view of the water is so tranquil and beautiful. But everything else is not. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It is not worth the headache and potential frustration.
