"We stayed here for three nights after backpacking the Lost Coast Trail, and it was the perfect vacation home for us to relax after our backpacking trek. It is within walking distance of a few restaurants and cafes, the light house, and the airport, and it had all the amenities that we needed. We would stay here again!"

People are so friendly, fisherman share their catch, Gyppo ale mill is enjoyable. Safe and clean area. Humboldt County has MUCH to offer. ~C~"

"This house was PERFECT for or family trip to the Redwoods. The house has beautiful view and perfect location. We were welcomed with a very nice bottle of wine and hand written note. The house sits on the 9 hole golf course run by adjacent KOA. We enjoyed golf and other KOA amenities. We walked to Benbow Inn for a very nice dinner. Our weather was rainy, it was nice to have this warm oasis to come home to each night. We did not use pool or hot tub due to weather."

"Easy to find and access Had everything we needed Host very responsive One suggestion- please get new pillows as their were only 2 per bed and they were very flat We had to plump up with decorative pillows for those who like a thicker pillow or need another pillow under their knees We really only slept at the house as all our meals were covered by the event we were there for And it was quiet"

The house is spacious with large windows and deck and had everything we needed. The hosts are charming and helpful and enriched are stay. We hope to return."

"We had a lovely time staying at Sea Gate in Westport. The house was perfectly appointed, warm and cozy, bright and friendly. We loved sitting on the deck looking out over the Pacific Ocean as it roiled and splashed over the rocks. And we were lucky to have perfect weather all week. We hope to return again in the future."

Only negative was Vacasa inserting extra steps into reservation process after I had been confirmed by VRBO, and encountering rude Vacasa customer service while calling trying to avoid identity theft. We all deserve kindness and compassion. Finding out I am dealing with a middleman with extra rules is reasonably off-putting after thinking I've closed a deal with VRBO. Cancelling and starting over at that point would have been a hassle. Writing this review is a hassle yet I thought...

"Our family had a memorable weekend enjoying the beautiful redwoods and all the peace and quiet of the area. The property is right next to a stream and there are lots of beautiful trees and flowers all around. The house is clean and spacious and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The beds are very comfortable and the three bedrooms are private and quiet. I really liked the quiet heating system and beautiful windows and skylights...even on chilly, rainy days the house is cozy and...

"We came to Petrolia for a couple of days on a road trip up the coast and had a great time. The kitchen was very well-equipped and bedrooms were comfortable for our party of 6. The orchard was also really lovely! The house is just a few minutes from Mattole Beach on the one side and the general store/‘downtown’ on the other. Great place to stay on the lost coast!"
