The good:
The property is in quiet location for great access to PRNL, there is a nice neighbor across the street, the shower is good with lots of hot water, there is a large comfy recliner in the living room to get lost in, the fridge is great, and the master bed is pretty comfy. The wifi was decent, I could make calls on the front porch.
The not so good:
The place is pretty old with some probable structural issues, the kitchen floor slopes (so do the countertops) quite significantly to one side - this caused my 75 yr old mom to almost take a fall during the night on her way to the bathroom. There were two pieces of laminate flooring that were sticking up in the kitchen area that caught toes and were trip hazards.
The furnace is LOUD. This needs to be repeated - it is very LOUD! It clunks and clanks - we named it 'the creature'. To get sleep, we had to turn it off and use the portable electric fireplace to heat the living area. The filter in the grate was pretty gross and in need of replacing (lol, so was the furnace).
There is a large hole in the wall behind the sliding door to the bathroom (which didn't provide a lot of sound privacy). The washer was great to have but didn't have any knobs to adjust temps/load size (a multi-tool came in handy). A towel was wrapped around the back of the toilet, and the walls were warped. Dirty pans. Lots of trim missing. One rooms 'wall' is a very poorly hanging folding closet door.
The BAD:
When we entered the house, plug-in air fresheners were overpowering and when we removed them, we smelled propane. There ended up being a leak in the stove fitting, however at our first report, the owner claimed there was no leak because the stove/furnace worked. This was simply not true as the property manager found out the next morning (they were 2 hours away). We had no where else we could go, it was late, so we opened the windows (which made the loud furnace kick on even more), shut the bedroom doors, and tried to sleep.
The property manager came and (mostly) fixed the leak, we could still smell a tiny bit when coming back to the house after a day but it was manageable. Communication with the property manager was good and she did the best she could with the leak. I do think a professional needed to be called in.
I wasn't expecting a martha stewart home, but with updates, this place could be so much better. Not sure about the structural issues though! Owner didn't care.
Would NOT stay again.
