Location on the hill was beautiful. The pool was also very nice. The only issue we had was due to lack of booked rooms the restaurant and bar was closed for dinner and breakfast on our last day.

We enjoyed our stay at Mariposa, the tone was set the moment we arrived. We checked in late and I went to go run in to give our information, our server Robby insured that he needed to greet us properly and asked all our guests to come in for a welcome drink which we thoroughly enjoyed, the kitchen was also waiting on to offer us dinner before they went home for the evening. We stayed in blue morpho which was close to the pool and bar. There was accessible parking. Staff was accompanying to all our needs whether it was supplying us with a cooler or packing us breakfast to go for our excursion. Please keep in mind you are in the JUNGLE, there are bugs, they are hard to avoid and they will be in your room no matter how nice. Please watch for ticks, two members of our party got ticks from the hammock. There is jungle noise all night, yelling weasels, curious monkeys. Enjoy these rare moments you may never get to witness again. The property had more amenities we weren’t able to take advantage of such as the bird tower but I recommend you do if time allows. Property is very close to mountain pine ridge park. San Ignacio town is approximately 20 minutes away so I recommend a car if you plan on visiting town. My only complaint is that 2/4 days we noticed housekeeping left our door unlocked after leaving.

Very nice location on the beach. Nice pool with a swim-up bar. It also has a restaurant but I didn't try it :)

Calico Jack's in a hidden gem in Belize! You really feel like you are in the jungle on their lush grounds. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and they clearly care about their guests. We loved the activities they offer, such as the zip lining only a 10 min walk from our room. Be sure to stay for breakfast and order the Stuffed Fry Jacks, they were the best we had in Belize! Our room was perfect for our large family and included three separate bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The roads leading to Calico Jack's are a bit all terrain, so we recommend AWD to get there in the rainy season.
