Rustic Cabin on Penobscot River (Pet-Friendly!)
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (33)
"Great location just outside of town. Property owner is super easy to contact and very kind. Very clean and calming place to stay. Nice back deck and picnic table by the river with plenty of room to roam in a wall kept lot. As other reviews have mentioned, I can see the issue if you have trouble with steep stairs to the bedroom, but the design of a cabin is no reason to knock down a rating, If you need handicap accessible, look for something that says it’s handicap accessible. Spacious cabin on beautiful Long Lake w/waterfront view, private dock, fire pit.
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (6)
"The moment we walked in we were overwhelmed by the nostalgic memories of camping trips from our youth. The cabin, situated on a peaceful lake and in a fairy-woodland, gently persuades one to thoroughly release every stress. The cabin itself is well-stocked and smells of fresh pine. Our family was blessed beyond measure by our stay. Also, Heidi and her family are wonderful people! "

Lakefront home with something to enjoy for every season!
9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, (158)
"Came to Maine to run a marathon. We were lucky enough to find this residence instead of a hotel. I’m glad that we did. It’s a charming cabin that is very pet friendly if you bring a pet. Chilling out on the dock and listening to the loons while boaters cruise by was very relaxing. The owner is very available and easy to communicate with. If there was any one thing that needed additional attention, it would be the cleaning. The person who does the cleaning probably needs one of those Swiffers...

Anderson's Waterfront Cottage on Duck Lake
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (39)
"The directions provided by the owner were very accurate and helpful. The lot was beautiful with a firepit and a very short walk to the dock, where clear water awaited. I did have some issues, though, which would've been mitigated with some additional information. There is running water but the smell of sulfur was overwhelming. It was not drinkable..bring lots of water. Showers are not really able to be taken as the smell makes your eyes water. Mice were an issue, BUT, it is a wood cabin. ...

Log Cabin On Quiet Wilderness Lake In Downeast Lakes Region Of Maine
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (20)
"Wonderful property, beautiful lake, nice house but it needs some improvements. It need to be cleaner. I know it is a wilderness camp but it needs a through cleaning. All food items should be removed after each guest departs. Food items attract mice and the house is infested with mice. We caught over a dozen while we were there. No one has cleaned behind the washer dryer in the last year. The throw on the couch was filthy. It needs a thorough cleaning. The stairs to the 2nd floor need to be...

"Property was great. FYI the one of the pictures makes it look like the river runs right to lawn but there is a steep incline to access river which if I had known I wouldn’t have brought my kayak. Otherwise the pictures are good representation of the property."

Cabin 5 feet from waters edge!!
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (8)
"My stay was lovely. The cabin was peaceful and had all we needed to enjoy our time there. Despite the downsides, I'd totally book again. The location was private. The pond was calm with few boats. Loved having the porch swings, picnic table, and outdoor hearth. Walmart & hannaford were 15 minutes away to get the forgotten odds and ends. I had excellent phone service. There was plenty of parking. The furniture was either hard as a rock (queen bed - bring a foam pad!) or rather warn out. The...
