St. Petersburg Independent Hotels & Suites

We were upgraded to the Executive Suite and it was great! We had our own private balcony overlooking Boca Ciega Bay-- so relaxing. Office staff and housekeeping were super helpful and friendly-- had an issue with the coffee maker and it was addressed promptly. We enjoyed the pool and deck areas. Public beach is a bit of a hike but still within walking distance. Only reason I didn't give a perfect score is the kitchen could have used a few more utensils and dishware. Two knives! Otherwise our stay was wonderful.

We stayed at the sandpearl for 6 nights and it was nothing short of excellent, the staff were very helpful and friendly. the lobby and rooms are lovely, we had a gulf view room overlooking the beach and pool area which was superb, the sunsets from the room were amazing. The house keeping was top notch. The caretta on the gulf bar and restaurant was excellent, we enjoyed some nice meals. The location of the sandpearl is perfect, beach, shops, bars and restaurants are all nearby. i would recommend this hotel.

Having the harbor view was a great option, as there is a new building on the gulf side and would impact some rooms views. Good facilities, very nice continental breakfast. Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Rooms were nice and spacious. Short walk to the beach. Had a recreation room with pool table and ping pong table. Had a resident washer and pin dryer. Had a nice swimming pool

I really enjoy my stays at the Birchwood. It is a clean, modern and conveniently located hotel in downtown St Pete. I find the towels and beds to be top notch! They include breakfast and wifi so that is also a pleasant surprise. I rate the staff as mediocre because of the desk agent Melenda. She hides behind her computer when you walk in and acts annoyed when you ask her to check in. I typically wouldn't say anything, but this has happened the last few times I have stayed. She definitely appears to hate her job and helping people. On the bright side, the desk agent in the morning who helps you check out is amazing! To add, the food in the dining room is phenomenal! The accommodations, location, comfort, convenience, and sleek style will keep me coming back... Even if I have to deal with Melenda and her moods.

The hotel is three blocks from the beach, 3 blocks from multiple restaurants in the top 20 out of 500 restaurants, unlimited use beach chairs umbrellas and bicycles. Also other guests were extremely courteous. And the pool facilities are excellent.

We checked in and it was like staying at home....we had all the facilities and amenities right at hand....

I've stayed here numerous times throughout the years. I've always had a fantastic experience. The only issue I had with this stay is the a.c. froze. It was tended to and fixed as soon as they were aware.

I was impressed with the cleanliness and set up of my unit. The whole place is a little dated but cinder block ages well. Furniture was modrrn, comfortable and clean, tile floors, comfortable bed. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
