Close to beach

Hidden fees

At check-in, I was informed that because I was staying only two days, there would be an additional fee for cleaning of $28 ($14/day). This represented a 20% higher cost per night than I paid when I booked on Expedia. And, there was no cleaning service after day 1. Bad business practice, will not return.

Weekend stay

Pros: The room and proximity to restaurants and beach
Cons: Check in
Location: Good location, family beach.
Our room and rate was excellent.Our check in was chaotic. Limited parking and long lines at check in. Could not locate our reservation on their computer, electronic door keys would not work. Multiple trips to the check in desk to certify my reservation and to get maintenance to open our room.

Pros: Landscaping
Hotel needs to do a better job of cleaning up after last guest checks out. We had to sweep and wash the floor when we got there.

It's a timeshare property. Our room was the small attached side to the good room. You could hear your neighbors clearly & see their shadows under the connecting door. The property was nice & clean and the staff was also nice. It is close to the beach & to lots of restaurants.

Don't like money

Pros: Every staff member we met was very nice and friendly.
Cons: Lots.
We booked a "Hotel Room" at the Plantation Resort, since we were only a couple and weren't sure we needed multiple rooms. The hotel information described the room as comparable to upscale hotels. Of all the hotel rooms I have visited, this room could only compare to a New York City hotel or other tiny urban property. Every other vacation or resort destination property has been more spacious. Expedia told us the room should be at least 200 sq feet. Only way that room was 200 sq feet was counting the bathroom and tub. The room itself was approx. 14 paces by 13 paces or roughly 182 sq feet. We tried to upgrade the room so the accommodations would not detract from the experience. Front desk kicked the request to a "Registration Dept". Registration told us they could not upgrade a reservation made through Expedia. Huh? They couldn't even suggest a price difference? We called Expedia within a half hour, and they set off to call Registration for a price difference. Expedia failed to reach this Registration person as well.

Pros: Cleanliness
Location: I was in the area to only visit friends and was not lookig for things to do.
The hotel was not a good choice for me as I did not use the resort facilities, which made the resort fee a waste of money for me.

Perfect place for the family: kids love the pool and water play area; rooms are spacious; the beaches nearby are quieter and family friendly; easy access to Myrtle Beach boardwalk, attractions, and restaurants.
