This apartment’s attraction is a stunning roof deck. Unfortunately, it is currently not very usable.
The owner/manager is personable and seems very engaged. However, there were some significant communication issues.
First, there is a huge construction project going on immediately adjacent. A block of buildings has been torn down and a new multi-story will rise in its place. That means bulldozers, pile drivers, jack hammers and, soon, riveting, grinding, etc. This starts at or before 7am and goes until about 4:30 pm. Unless you are very insensitive to noise, this makes the roof deck unattractive during the day. The noise is so loud as to penetrate the apartment (wall and one window are immediately adjacent to construction zone).
Manager/owner did NOT disclose this in advance. When asked about it, she waved it off “oh, they have strict times of day when they can make noise”.
Sadly, evenings were also not great on deck. Once it got dark, a parade of large outdoor cockroaches take it over. We’re not squeamish but there were dozens all over.
Other quirks include the non-functional fire pit. Again, owner/manager waved this off “it never gets cold” but it was listed and seemed a very nice amenity (also might have kept roaches at bay). She declined to provide operation. There is a working grill and fridge but, until bug issue is solved, cooking out not attractive.
Other big issue is that this unit has no central A/C. There is one rolling “penguin” unit. Very loud only for one room.
