We were in town to celebrate a milestone birthday. We wanted to rent a property that was close to the downtown area/Riverwalk; airport; and restaurants. The place was able to accommodate 7 of us comfortably, was extremely clean, had a great layout and was welcoming inside. I made contact with property host/owner a few times about questions I had. Most questions were answered except for the one about being in a safe neighborhood. I understand that you don't want to deter prospective renters by stating anything negatively and maybe I didn't pick up the vibe in the property description as I am still new to the "Vrbo" thing. Fortunately, I was able to drive to location prior to our stay and I can tell you the property was very appealing to the eye, but wasn't in the best location. I did re-think our reservation, but figured with 7 of us we would be ok. You can definitely tell that Tampa Heights is an up and coming area; it still has a way to go. Fortunately, the property is well-lit and once inside we felt safe and had no issues. We did not walk anywhere and drove to nearby Armature Works (a must-visit). The purpose of our visit was not to primarily hang out at the property so it more than accommodated our needs. There was some confusion with parking as I was told to park in "Space B" but it was occupied during arrival. Property host/owner told me to go ahead and park in "Space A". Not a big deal. Not too long after I received a message asking if I had any vehicles parked in a spot for the apartment over the garage. We did not. There were a couple of things that we know the property host/owner can't control. The 1st night of stay we were awoken between 3am-4am by downstairs guests talking/laughing . It should be known that the property upstairs (B) and downstairs (A) do have an echo that can make voices project. In addition, the downstairs guests "seemed" to be engaging in activity that violated property host/owner requests . Thus, maybe the reason for the late night noise and perhaps an unknown vehicle parking in the garage apartment's spot. There were "house rules" that property host/owner asks everyone to abide by, but we know they can only do so much. I was definitely impressed with the welcome basket of goodies and the bathroom supply of items that a traveler may have forgotten. Overall, our visit to the property was successful and we enjoyed our time there.
