Happy for the second time.
I am happy. I was there in this hotel for the second time. I had what I expected. Single room with shower. Nothing special but for this price. OK. Shower is really small, but I am not a big guy. So I do not recommend this hotel for bigger size people... :-) Room is simple but clean. Cleaning service is every day and I even asked the cleaning lady that they do not need to clean it every day. I was not in the hotel anyway. I just slept there. I did not go for holiday to spend my time in the hotel... :-) I say super. If the price do not change, I will go there every year. I just need a room with shower where to sleep. I am very simple person so for me it is perfect... Thank you.

I am happy
Simple room but nice for the money. Shower little bit small but I am not too big... :-) To be honest with you I am happy. I have had a nice bed where I could sleep and I cared more about my trips to Barcelona and Tarragona...

One night only.
for 1 night it's just ok. A tiny room with no insulation. People outside my room in the corridor being noisy @ 07:00. The room had the barest of bare essentials. This is all clearly done as cheaply as possible. The room I was assigned at the electronic check-in was not the room advertised. Some very creative photography in use on the website. More honesty concerning the rooms is needed here. I will not return.

Uncomfortable and unfriendly. Tiny room, tiny bathroom, tiny stairs. No staff to attend circumstances; you´re left to yourself. Heating was not working properly; someone across whatsapp was handling it, but wouldn't set it right. We had a remote control, but were told not to use it. No one would show their face to check it on the room.

Nice room right in the heart of the city, very walkable and convenient. Just beware that if you have a room looking at the city plaza, there might be some noise from the plaza itself, not much but if you have trouble sleeping like me it can be a bit bothersome

Great location in the old part of the city. We had a balcony overlooking the plaça. The room was small but not smaller than advertised. Completely automated check-in and check-out. Very nice for the price.

There is NOBODY to help you. Check in is with a machine and nobody is there. Bathroom so small my son couldn’t fit in the shower. I saw the single rooms and the room only has space for a bed and nothing else. Location and parking are great though

Room was very comfortable and clean. Excellent location. Great value for money. Only down sida was lack of hot water in the evening. Lots of hot water during the dsy but not possible to shower before goung to bed.

Sencillo y cómdo.

Tiny room. 'window' opened to central gap. Heating poor, thin blanket, cold through the night. Coffee machine took my euro and gave me coffee, however lack of cup appearing made it difficult to drink. Automated check in and drop ox check out.

Booking without breakfast
In general the hotel is fine, it is good allocated and is easy to find. But the service is deficient. I had booked with breakfast and it was 10 AM and nobody appeared before to explain me about it. Finally one person came to the hotel and with no good manners gave me a ticket for going to near cafeteria. I do not recommend to book with breakfast.

This is an old fashioned Pensio. Competitively priced, the daily room change immaculate and the location, in the heart of the old town, fantastic. Loved it. The bed was good (dodgy back) but you may sleep better in more plushly insulated/air conditioned expensive hotels.

Stayed one night to explore the town. Directions for check in were very clear that they were only there from 14:00-18:00 for check in. There was nothing about check out procedures and the fact that thete was no place to leave your luggage if you were staying in town longer after checkout to explore. It took an extra 45 minuets for us to figure out what to do with our bags. This is a very self service type of place. If you know that going in and you are good with it, it is the place for you. Not my style which is why I rated it the way I did. Also be aware the steps up are very narrow so if you have roller luggage it could be tricky to ascend up to your room.

Clean & well located
Super clean and centrally located in the Gothic Quarter. Easy check-in (though you should arrange in advance) and elevator in the building. Perfect for a short stay!

Small but perfectly located.
Fantastic location for restaurants bars and the bustle of Spanish street life. A busy plaza right outside the doorstep, great shops and a 10min walk to local beach. The room was small and the bathroom tiny but the location more made up for it. We had trouble checking in late at night and had to get another room somewhere else. The next day the forum staff fully reembursed us the extra hotel we paid for with no quibble. Make sure you email them 24 hours before you leave as it’s an automated email sent out with the code for entry. The service was outstanding we were very happy. The room was really clean with new towels everyday. The pics are the view from our balcony during Santa Tecla festival.

You get what you pay for.
Location great but not if you have a car as no free parking anywhere near the hotel. On a stay of 7 nights in July I would expect the sheet to be changed at least once.

Very clean,close to everything in the city. Five minute walk to bus station and ten minute walk to take the train.close to beach and a lot of restaurant. Better to bring banking card than cash

Tiny but Cozy Hotel
I stayed at this hotel for a weekend trip to Tarragona. The room was very tiny but really acceptable for a short stay. The location simply couldn’t be better, as it’s located right on one of the main squares. I also had a balcony overlooking the main square. For this reason, there was some noise until the bars and restaurants closed but this didn’t bother me at all. For someone more sensitive to noise it may not be an ideal option. However, the price and location really cannot be beat! It’s close to many fantastic restaurants and right next to the Roman ruins.

It is cheap for a good reason
It only has staff on reception duty 14.00 - 16.00 hrs. The stairs are steep, the rooms are very small and Placa del Font is a central gathering place in Tarragona by the city hall for celebrations. The square is full of bars and restaurants so are active late night and early hours of the morning. The Hotel is in the old part of Tarragona, known as the Part Alta (literally High Part), it is where the Roman and Medieval exist side by side and also where a lot of the nightlife is. Tarragona is a very walkable City and the people are very polite and helpful. It does help to have both Spanish and Catalan phrases for the common things you like to ask for. The people here do appreciate an effort being made.

A Hotel in the heart of Tarragona
As other people has stated this hotel is more a Hostal than a Hotel but is really ok, you get what you pay, for me was really Ok because I was looking for something not expensive and in the city while I look for a room to rent. The hotel is very centric and close to a lot of business, places to have a beer, to eat some good food and really close to the historic part of Tarragona, especially the roman ruins. There is a Carrefour close to the hotel for those who want to buy something to try to not expend a lot of money on breakfast and dinners. I rent a room without view and was ok, every room in europe is small but was clean and everything was working, the bed was comfy and the bathroom had hot water. So my experience was quite OK and if you are in a budget this is a great option.

Good location but very noisy
Hostel is in a good location in the centre of Tarragona with lots of restaurants and the main sights nearby. That was the only redeeming feature. The hostel is unstaffed and you need a code to enter it, I would advise trying to contact the hostel first because if you don't have it you can't get in. There is a number given on the door for you to call, however it does not work if you try to ring it, you can only communicate via WhatsApp. The only reason I found this out was by being let in by a guest on their way out and then reading some of the info in the lobby area. My room was basic, which was fine, but lacked ventilation or natural light. It was also very noisy and there was a lot of loud music and banging well into the night. On one of the days the power went out on my floor on two occasions, each time requiring WhatsApp messages to be sent. When power came back on I was unable to switch off my light and my fan no longer worked (problematic as the room was very warm and you can't have the window open at night due to the noise). When I tried to complain and ask for a refund on my final night so that I could go to a different hostel I received no response. There is also no lift so worth bearing in mind if you struggle with stairs.

Rooms get hot there is no reception but it is cheap and clean enough good wifi and a brilliant location in a lovely town. Beware the couple of street facing rooms (11, 21, 31, 41) are incredibly noisy in the evenings.

Excellent location at amazing price.
Beautiful old building. Many flights of stairs, as to be expected with traditional buildings of this style. Free WiFi in rooms was a major plus. Location on one of main squares: great for shops, bars and restaurants. Attractions such as Roman theatre and casino very nearby. My small single ensuite had a window which opened onto a steep, narrow lightwell, therefore ventilation was a problem. Absolutely boiling in room, waking up soaked each night as ceiling fans are a far cry from air-con. Heat in room beyond even expectation despite peak season visit. No change of towel or sheets, or any cleaning during four night stay. Can be added for additional surcharge. Supposed to receive towel change after three nights, I didn't, despite double checking and requesting. Possible lost in translation as my Spanish is awful. Bedroom door missing conventional lock. Only room in building with weird bolt and mini padlock. Didn't feel secure nor did I wish to leave valuables in room as forced entry could be made easily. Asked when this would be fixed. Told it would not be fixed and to relax. In fairness no problems occurred. Tiny shower cubicle with the longest shower curtain ever (totally in the way). Only one tap above hand basin. Again no replacement towel or toilet roll during stay. This is a great location and a private room with ensuite at this very low rate could be looked on as a gem. I am struggling to imagine a swift return as too many resolvable issues tip the balance.
