Great entertainment and layout but lousy food.

The mini club and kids pool and nightly entertainment was too good. But we were disappointed with the food. Also has access to a nice sea front which has a nice small black sand beaches about 200 meters to the right. Rooms are not the most modern ones are not too great.

Very good, but....

Pros: Everything- A lot to do, the beach Promenade was well conceived and maintained. There were two smaller black sand beaches within walking distance.
Cons: The hotel is eight years old and starting to show signs of wear. It is well maintained however, and looks very clean.
Location: Two black sand beaches, two ocean pools (bring surf shoes), several Tapas restaurants (some require reservation), town square within walking distance.
The room was well appointed and in very good repair. Everything functioned as it should. The bed was firm and comfortable, but not all too stable for active adults.... The beds moved. We didn't spend too much time in the room, as we were underway most of the time. The service was amazing, from the bell staff to the room service. A little known fact is the green option- you can save 20 euros off your room service bill by asking for the green option- this means they don't service your room for a day and you earn 20 euros- not a problem if you reuse towels and make your own bed... The balcony was small but cozy and screened from the freshwater pool (we were right next to it) by the vegetation. The infinity pool is a huge saltwater pool. This was unexpected and pretty unique. Now for the not so good- It took a couple of tries to get a working water cooker (3, to be exact). The safe stopped working and I had to call the desk to get it fixed. There were two shower heads- a hand held and a "rainfall" head- The upper shower head was pointed the wrong way and the bath got flooded until we figured out that you have to point the stream to the back of the shower. Ice for drinks costs 2 euros. There is a dress code for some of the bars in the hotel (Slacks and a collared shirt, no sandals) so if you want to enjoy the hotel amenities at night bring appropriate clothes. The town is close by, but small with little (aside from restaurants) nightlife. The Hotel had a full program.

Outstanding resort and great value

We made a last minute decision to go somewhere warm in Nov. with nonstop access from London. Great choice! The resort was at capacity but it's so well laid out that we never waited in line due to excellent service. Gorgeous grounds. Several top restaurants--Duo and Market Grill were memorable. Spa has odd policy where they don't supply bathrobes and you can't automatically use the saunas when you book a service. Sushi restaurant had snooty service. But all else was superb!

Negatives: 1. The day of our arrival, after quite a long trip, we got a room facing Oasis bar- a very noisy one, despite the fact that I was telling the lady at the reception that we'd like a quite room. However, when 30 min later we phoned the reception and asked to change our room, this was done without further comments. It could have ben done from the begining, though! 2. Extremely expensive evening buffet (42€/ pers, drinks-not even water- not included); no seafood and a poor variety of fish. 3. Asking for shampoo and conditioner one of the days, I got shampoo, soap and body lotion!!

25th (Silver) Wedding Anniversary

Pros: Customer service, architecture, landscaping, amenities for everyone (kids, no kids, old, young), the boardwalk was wonderful for our evening strolls
Cons: Yeah, okay, so my wife and I sat hear staring at each other. We got nothing!
Location: Location was breathtaking but seriously, we simply did the resort and what IT had to offer, sorry
This was our 25th wedding anniversary and we decided to "swing for the fence" and we scored a home run! This five star resort was everything it promised to be and more. The room w/ full ocean view was spectacular. The complementary champagne and gift chocolates were a real touch of class. We ended up getting half board and ate at three of the seven restaurants. Our favorite restaurant was "Club Ocean" but that may be because we met in Italy, Lol. I will wrap it up this way, we rented a car for our five day stay and once we parked it in the indoor car parking area we didn't move it again until it was time to drive back to the airport. We plan on seeing some more of the island next year when we come back for our 26th anniversary.

Luxury Hotel and Resort

Pros: Location, friendly staff and service, immaculate hotel
Cons: The only disappointing experience was dining at Duo. The food was overpriced and the quality, taste and quantity was extremely poor.
Location: Los Gigantes nearby short taxi ride with Whale & Dolphin watch Rent a car and drive to top of Teide an extinct volcano. Plenty of local restaurants.
Exceptional accommodations, beautiful resort and the perfect location.

A Family paradise...

Pros: Kids friendly. Good daily entertainment for the family. Good food, fair price.
Cons: Road indications to find the resort. Could improve bar service by the Family Pool.
My wife, my 7 years old son and I spent a week at the Gran Melia Palacio de Isora: it was extremely pleasant! 5 restaurants, all very good food, tasteful decoration and decent options for kids. The swiming pools are located apart, giving us the opportunity to be at a different part of the resort each day. Pools are good size, and the Lake Pool is huge, amusing adults and kids. The hotel is also very well located, between Los Gigantes and Los Cristianos and very close to El Teide. We are not easy to please and I can say we were very pleased with the resort. Would go back any time!

5 star looks 3 star service

Location: Not much around outside though found one great restaurant And kids playground Over looking the sea
This hotel caters to a large percentage of all inclusive and full board holiday makers meaning the service seems more geared toward not giving anything away than providing a 5 star service. Impossible to get a drink by the pool particularly the kids pirate ship pool. Food over priced for what is served. For example a starter tomato, mozerella and rocket salad was served with precisely 2 rocket leaves priced at €14. the design of the hotel is very contemporary and chic so visually does not disappoint, they play some cool chill music too, until the Thompson show starts, the service let's it down immensely. I would go back for the kids pool (though no beach) but never as an adult couple as would want much much better service. Nb go but only on a full boahasidim inclusive basis so your not disappointed to be served up all inclusive food. Nb there's a fabulous restaurant called sauc about 400 meters away along the sea front, not much to look at Outside but the food and service is much much better and far cheaper and they were great with our kids giving them little portions price adjusted that they enjoyed and actually ate. Nb the kids fold down sofa quite possibly the most uncomfortable bed on the planet. If you get it, give up and pull the mattress on the floor that's works better though what a pain.

Great hotel, not the best location

The hotel was fantastic. Very clean, beautifully laid out, and good restaurants. We also got upgraded from our originally booked Demi Suite to a Superior Suite which made the stay a lot more enjoyable. The service by the ppol could have been better (hardly anyone walking around to take drinks orders and no food served by the pool). We booked half-board which ended up being a great deal. Renting a car is highly recommended as the location is not ideal (30min drive to main beaches). Parking at the hotel is free.

poor service behind an expensive facade.

Geat building and facilities but they are not yet matched by the service levels and attitude of the staff. At a time when the hotel was not even half full. management were anonymous.
